While I don’t raid, I’ve been a healer main since shadowlands now. The different color dispels is kinda pointless. We honestly shouldn’t even have different debuff types like this in the firet place. At least not that we can’t dispel from one class to the next, but that’s another topic. I feel like they will add something acceptable for things like rejuv etc. I know I personally like to use weakauras on partyframes to have certain outlines for bleeds or anything that BoP strangely removes like certain fears, and another for roots and slows that are sometimes magic debuffs and sometimes only dispelable with blessing of freedom.
They’re gutting everyone and everything. Maybe they’re right. theying to make it console or mobile combatible.
this is looking potentially worse than the wod purge
These two are likely never happening, it goes against their current stance
that said there will likely be less to dispel anyway
this is something they should put in
these are entirely cosmetic and will still work no matter what

Without Grid or being able to shrink raid frames down to Grid’s size, healing is going to be harder on me and will become an accessibility issue. I have bad carpal tunnel/tendonitis and use a trackball to play the game. Grid offers minimal movement between individual frames and less fatigue for my hand overall.
I can deal without buff tracking, etc, but small raid frames are a requirement for me to heal comfortably.
Major changes to old things are great for houses and cars, not so good for old things like me though.

I have no gripe with removing the NEED for addons, but I have a serious problem with removing the OPTION to use addons.
I play WoW over other games specifically because I can customize the UI to my heart’s content to present information in a way that suits me. I have visual processing issues that make this a critical need for me. I have trouble processing information quickly enough if I can’t set up the UI in a way that works for me. Since I started playing WoW in open beta, the default UI has never worked for me. It always falls short.
Thankfully, addons came to the rescue, and I can have raid/party frames that show my hots and externals as colored squares for quick and easy recognition. I can add a colored border to indicate there’s a magic debuff, curse, poison, or disease to remove. I can use a nameplate addon that colors the health bar of NPCs that need to be urgently interrupted so they stand out. I can grab a class WeakAura pack from Wago, and customize it exactly as I like, so I’m always aware of the state of my abilities. I can add verbal (or sound) notifications to WeakAuras and boss timers to help me prepare for mechanics or remind me to do something. I love those verbal reminders.
Blizzard, one size NEVER fits all.
Making a lot of customization for healers on the default raid/party frames will make or break this next coming xpac. If they stay the same as they are on alpha then you’ll see a mass exodus from healing to dps, imagine a whole expansion with out healers.
adding to this, customisation of number, sizing, stack count and placement of hots / dots on the frame… druids have more than 3 hots…
Forgive me for being skeptical of Blizzard but this is the same company that has been promising less spikey damage for raids and changing up healing for like 4 expansions now and haven’t been able to accomplish that.
Here here…
I came back to the game this xpac after a decade away, and I heal. I understand that many people very attached to their UIs, however, like you said, you need all of this UI to function, but where does that leave someone who is like you but without all this UI expertise? Needing the UI to perform is the problem and Midnight is not asking you to do the same things you do now but with fewer tools, it’s asking you do something different that will not require so many tools.
I’ve solo healed raids and got hardmode achievements and did speed runs of AQ and Naxx using the default raid frames. I think people are just bad, not trying to be mean or maybe I’m just a gamer prodigy?
Too bad no one will let me have the latter. I can’t brag and I can’t call people bad, so I guess it’s just a mystery as to why addons are being removed for the dimwits even though Blizzard has explained it’s because addons hurt raid design and they’re completely cheats in PVP which no one has ever denied so um yeah.
Did my UI really die for a console release Blizzard?
