Gust of Wind Confirmed

The more i look the more i like. We got modifiers on top of modifiers but it legit looks fun. I really like the look of electrified shocks

Electrified Shocks: Icefury causes your Frost Shocks to damage up to 4 additional enemies and targets hit take 15% increased damage from your Nature spells for 4 sec. Chain Lightning prefers targets with this effect

And flux melting

Flux Melting: Casting Frost Shock increases the damage of your next Lava Burst by 20%.

We have a legit damage reason to use FRAWST SHAWK again

Does anyone know what to make of this spell:

Eyes of the Eagle: Changes the caster’s viewpoint to that of their Companion Eagle.

I guess its like far sight, but why is it the tree? Companion eagle?

AGREE! 60% shift looks amazing! That alone with wolf affinity, spamming greater purge in wolf form without casting a gcd. mmmmmmmmmm :cloud_with_rain: ACID RAIN!! Are we also getting nature’s swiftness back? if so !!!

Really excited about most of these things. Several notes:

  • Gust of Wind is back, nice!
  • I wonder how Earth Shock could work in general tree, when both Enh and Resto do not have access to Maelstrom resource. Maybe it is a talent for Ele only, maybe it will just have big CD for two other specs or maybe Maelstrom resource would become available for all 3 specs.
  • Guardian’s Cudgel looks good for PVP. If enemies would try to break Cap Totem, they will just spawn it again. They still can just leave its area though, so Cap Totem is still counterplayable. However, if Cap Totem can still be broken, maybe not all totems will have HP removed.
  • Spiritwalker Aegis is awesome - it grants Ele access to an aura mastery type ability and frees one PVP slot for Resto, enabling many new PVP talent combos.
  • Tranquil Air Totem is a good PVP addition as well - it provides both Ele and Resto with a way to deal with kicks on Nature school. It also could enable new 2s / 3s comps of Ele / Resto + hardcasting specs and give Shaman a way to make their life easier. All of this though depends on whether Tranquil Air Totem is breakable and if yes, then how much HP it would have.
  • Ele got ways to generate Maelstrom on the move (Flame Shock generation talent, utility abilities generation talent, access to Nature Swiftness, possibility to wear two Elementsl Shields etc) just as I asked, nice!
  • Talent that turns Icefury into Frost AoE CD sounds interesting. I really hope that it is no longer a choice node with Primal Elementalist though, as that might easily make it underused again.
  • Magma Eruption is a way to spread Flame Shock for Ele. While I still think Volcanic Rage is a better option (no 6s delay), at least it is something.
  • Stormkeeper lost its guaranteed overload feature. If that is kept, please greatly buff Lightning Bolt damage baseline or via talents, so that its single target burst remains similar to current.
  • Thundershock is interesting. If enemies thrown into air cannot use offensive / movement abilities, it might turn Thunderstorm into a viable anti-stun CD for Ele, even against melee with tons of gap closers that just ignore its knockback currently.
  • Possibility to use 10 Maelstrom Weapons for Enh sounds both interesting and scary. Just imagine 10 MS Chain Harvests in PVP… hopefully it will not get it nerfed even more. Maybe not, as the MW enhancing conduit is not listed and the increase could be actually not as big as it sounds.
  • Acid Rain is a cool idea to be kept in DF - an area that both damages enemies and heals allies is a cool concept and might give Healing Rain much more usage for Resto.
  • Earthgrab Totem nerf to 1 min CD is strange. However, if it actually cannot be broken now and no HP value for totems is not just a tooltip change, maybe there is a justification for that.
  • Chain Heal affecting 5 targets (with talent) is welcomed and another thing that I asked for, good to see it implemented.
  • 60% DR Astral Shift with 8 sec duration reduced from 12 is an interesting thing to see. However, it will still not help with Shamans dying in stunlocks in PVP (that will be extended when both Sub and Outlaw will get access to 7 combo point Kidneys), so a talent to make it useable in stuns would be welcomed as well.
  • Precognition PVP talent sounds fun. Juke and nuke! (with bonus Haste and CC immunity)
  • Talent that allows to use totems and utility abilities without breaking Ghost Wolf is good as well, it will greatly help all Shaman specs with kiting / positioning.
  • Talent that allows to use two Elemental Shields at once is interesting. It could have good synergy with Unleash Shield PVP talent if both shields would be unleashed at once. Ele Shaman could use his Lightning Shield + Earth Shield combo unleash to knock enemy back and root him (strictly in that order) and receive a bit of casting / healing time. Resto Shaman could use his Water Shield + Earth Shield combo unleash to create a whirlpool and root the enemy in it for some time to prevent him from just instantly running out of it, as enemies currently do. So, I think that if possibility to Unleash 2 shields at once will be implemented, that can make this PVP talent much more useful and competitive with other PVP talents for all 3 Shaman specs.

Hope to see some cool additions to Enhance as well and Doom Winds kept for it. Looking forward to the official Shaman trees release!

Maelstrom talent to go back to 150. Much needed

I will say I think all 3 specs of shaman should get access to thunderstorm.

I think elemental shamans should have an elemental pet. I think it fits that spec really well.

…or Aang from Avatar The Last Airbender. When he goes Avatar mode in the battle against Firelord Ozai, he has each element orbiting around him and uses them to attack/maneuver.

We already have Earth, ‘Wind’ (lightning shield), and Water. Create a new Fire orb shield that would basically be a passive searing totem that stays with you?

Thematically it would fit amd yes it would be cool. I just really loathe the pet ai in wow. It would be enough for me to abandon shaman. Obvs blizzard doesnt care but i really hope thats not the case. I like shaman

Ehh, I enjoy summoning elementals to my side temporarily, but I definitely don’t want a permanent pet on any Shaman spec.

This is why blizzard nerfed FS they did not want shaman to be considered a pet class

I suspect the reasons there is no Fire Shield are to not overlap it with Mage’s Blazing Barrier and its effect would be too similar to Lightning Shield / Blazing Barrier - dealing damage to enemies that hit you.

However, there is a solution - as Shamans use more lava than pure fire, Blizzard could create a Lava Shield for them. It could slightly reduce physical damage taken and create a small lava surge whenever you get hit in melee, dealing damage to all enemies in a radius around you. This would keep it distinguished from Lightning Shield and useful against packs of melee mobs in PVE.

I would also like to see a Water / Ice weapon imbue skill, as 3 other elements will be represented already. It could be applied to main hand weapon (off-hand for Enhancement) and make melee hits with this weapon reduce damage done by the enemy hit by X% for Y seconds. This would make it a decent alternative to Flametongue for Ele - you trade Fire spells damage boost for possibility to use autoattacks in melee and reduce the melee pressure enemy applies to you, Enhancement - same purpose, but would also require untying Lava Lash damage from Flametongue Weapon to keep them competitive. Resto could also trade the small HoT from Earthliving Weapon for a small survivability boost against melee enemies.

Just to play devils advocate. Based off the last two expansions there will be a catch, like having to give up LB in order to take GoW.

Modifiers don’t work like that, it will be an additional 20% of the 40%, so more likely 48% in total.

I’ve been druid for so long that I wanted to give shaman a shot now seems to be that time looking forward to this. Already got her made vulpera named I’mSoHexy lol.

If it was two separate
Abilites you would be correct but there is a talent that makes astral shift reduce damage by an extra 20%.

So its additivive not multiplicative. Its just 40+20

The key phrase there is “Do not want shaman to be considered a pet class.” However, what I am stating and firmly believe is to only make one spec a pet spec, not the whole class. That way it doesn’t take away from the Resto shamans who let’s admit it is amazing as they are (slight twinks I am sure). Or the Enhancements who ultimately do not want the Earth Elemental and would gladly give the Earth Elemental up for Blizzard to allow Enhancement shamans to Tank.

I mean seriously it is a spec that commands or works with the elements (however you want to look at it) that doesn’t allow companion pets to be with them except on temp bases. While we see throughout wow other NPC shamans that have elementals as pets all the time.

Yet you are saying that because Blizzard nerfed Fire Shield this is why they “Blizzard” did not want shamans to be considered a pet class. How does nerfing a fire shield equate to the decision for a single spec of a class to not have pets? So please do explain because if not I again say Blizzard give elemental shaman the ability to have one elemental companion pet and make all others temporary summon.

Again they nerfed feral spirits removed stun, healing and reduced damage to keep from it being a pet spec. We have a leggo and a build that allows us to have FS up almost 100% if not at 100% what do you think blizzard will do with that. Nerf it again and worse.

No Enhancement ability feral spirits. Feral spirits used to stun when they charged to their target and then they would heal for 100% of the damage they did and they did a lot of damage. Then blizzard reduced the healing and then removed the stun. Then they removed the healing and reduced the damage they did. And their reason was they did not want Enhancement to be considered a pet spec.

My Bad I did misspeak on that for some strange reason I was talking to a friend about fire shield which was actually a shaman spell in the Dungeon and Dragon World of Warcraft Role Playing Game from years ago.

What I would say about feral spirits though is that I never felt that they were even close to being a pet spec but something that yes you summoned for a brief time.

Again I think you missed my point One spec to have an Elemental Companion, not the feral raptor/puppies but ONE Elemental companion of their choosing at level 10 with all other elementals being a temp summon and gotten throughout the leveling experience. This again would ONLY apply to Elemental Shaman spec no other spec of Shaman.

Again this would have nothing to do with leggo builds, or blizzard nerfing one spell or anything. This would be to make the Elemental spec what it in essence should have always been.
