Gushing Wound Corruption Effect Reduction

Best news of the day.

So it took me all content patch to get my first gushing wounds item today, and on a 470 no less from a 5 mask. Now, I cannot recorrupt the same piece nor can I use it currently because it fills the same slot as my TD piece. Next week, I can’t do anything with it because you’re nerfing it enough to where it’s no longer useful.

This is more than a little infuriating. Going weeks with absolute garbage items out of the m+ chest, from 5 mask visions (2 a week usually), and now this. edit: looks like items from today on can be re-corrupted, so partially editing this. Whew. That’s better. This whole thing is still garbage, but slightly less terrible.

its a stacking issue. if one or two people RNG a full set, that’s not going to break the game. the nature of RNG is someone gets lucky. but when it becomes, everyone can have unmitigated power stacked to those levels, it becomes a slight issue. like, imagine if in classic the release Thunder-fury on a vendor for very little gold/ currency for its value.

It’s the end of the expansion. No one really cares a whole lot in this interm period between relevant content releases but… if this isn’t the topper for why this system wasn’t very well done I don’t know what else would be.

Heck of a laugh that they thought people randomly finding themselves with multiple Gushing Wounds for their full corruption budget was tolerable but everyone being able to get into that position would be a bad idea.

Not that I disagree, I think people stacking Gushing with the vendor could be horrible for game balance… but it’s ironic that this set up got a pass prior to this point.

After getting one gushing wounds item and getting notice it was being nerfed in mere hours, and getting unusable azerite once again, I am over it. I would rather see the world burn at this point, and just have everyone put un-nerfed gushing in every slot. We’ll bleed each other to death.

The loot pinata has finally exhausted my patience.

we haven’t seen its cost on the vendor, but if its based on corruption cost, then it will only cost ~4125 which means only 33k for a full set of 8.
the alts or people sitting on 20k+ already will likely have enough for that full set by the time it shows up on the vendor.

I get that, however, with the end of the expansion is it really that big of a deal is kind of my point. I could see 2nd tier or whatever, but we’re literally a few months away from the new expansion, they should just leave it be.

Ugh welp there goes a chunk of my dps due to nerfing a corruption at the end of the expansion my fault for not having anything to replace it with. Why indeed cant we just delete corruption now rather then waste time on it now whats the point if it’ll be nerfed anyway. Frustration…

I think it will be more like 5-6 months out. so half a year. but who know. maybe shadow lands comes sooner. in any case, its the end of the insanity expansion. it it would be nice if we could just go to insane levels of power.

35% is a bit much but it was one that should have been nerfed a long time ago but go away with being over budget because it was rare.

hopefully there won’t be any other nerfs. lets see how crazy we can get it~

I cant help but laugh at the excuse/reason for the nerf either. “We were fine with it when you couldn’t get it but now that you can it needs to be nerfed”. Essentially says we never actually wanted you to get this corruption.

odds of getting 2 or 3 might have been low. but now anyone and everyone can get 8 within a few weeks.

Well— I knew it was too good to be true. Blizzard doing things to right their wrongs with the RNG lottery system, making BFA more tolerable… and then they go and do something like this and totally put them back into the position we all hate. A big F-you to those that grinded gold to buy GW BoE’s. Locks and mages are going to dominate arena’s with their giga expedient and mastery builds. They already doing silly numbers with stat curruption. Melee have twilight and gushing wounds… Time to roll caster class. This nerf is not needed- people were hyped to start saving and grinding to spend echoes on corruption. All their dreams gone lol. As a main, I had no echoes since I have played this character diligently and got every rank 3 essence I could get. Non of that mattered cause i could finally work my back off to get gushing wounds. Nope- that’s not gonna happen either.

Honestly- I dont have high hopes for shadowlands. They need new devs- they don’t even play their own game.

The WoW token is mainly for players who need a boost to gold and not intended to buy a bunch of to get something super expensive in game, and not as a “pay to win” mechanic imo.

I bought 1 WoW token a while back to “get up to speed” with the gold value in the game so I don’t have to be concearned about repairs etc.

Yeah it stuff like this that makes me have little faith in them being balanced as blizzard claims they’ll have it.

If only pvp resilience existed.

Please consider something other than a 35% nerf. I literally have went through 100s of corrupted pieces of gear and have yet to see it drop once. I was excited to finally be able to target the item.

You could make it so it doesn’t scale with ilvl or if it is pvp issue just nerf it in pvp. Perhaps increase the proc rate and reduce the damage in some way. But don’t make it less effective in PVE.

Instead of complaining you can replace it with expedient rank 3 that is purchasable from the vender right now and is way better for your spec than GW is.

You can sit there and say whatever you want about it, but at the end of the day, wow tokens are an easy way for blizzard to let people pay to win while claiming they don’t have pay to win in the game. I would love to see the numbers on how much money blizzard made on tokens since this patch went live. I can’t even fathom.

“Hotfix” :joy:

Why dont you nerf the other corruptions then? Twilight devastation and infinite stars do insane damage and generally more than all other sources.

Figures they’d nerf it now that it was actually possible to get
