Guild wars 2 is getting player housing

Personally, I really like my house in my garrison.

Good for them. I played this game one day a few years ago. Never went back. Not sure why.

It’s another form of player expression, not dissimilar from transmogs.

How about they don’t borrow anything from an almost dead game. If Guild Wars 2 knew what they were doing their game wouldn’t be near dead.

Nice… been waiting forever for housing.

Just cancelled my WoW sub to get back into GW2!!!

I will be honest, if player housing in GW2 looks good, I will be hardpressed not to buy all the expacs and Living World Quests and have an extended vacation in Tyria.

I mean I just did that and apparently it was weird, so I’ll answer your question with your own question:

You do realize that Blizzard copied GW 2’s flying system almost 1 to 1? And dragonflying is pretty much the only good feature of Dragonflight.

Guild Wars 2 even publicly mocked how shamelessly Blizzard copied their system. xD

Jealousy will make people do things, especially if the accuser if the lesser entity.

FF14 RP is a detriment to itself because it doesn’t really have a lot of engaging worldbuilding. AFAIK there isn’t a lot of deep lore on the races like there is for WoW, so there is less to build a character off of, so the RP just tends to be second life-lite style RP from what I’ve seen.

That being said though, I do not think this is the case in FF14. If you just go to Balmung there’s so many people in Ul’dah. So, so many people. All RPing in tells, but still, there’s a lot of people around.

ESO also has a very marginal RP scene. At least, from what I saw. I saw very few people doing anything of the sort, afaik there’s only one tavern in Highrock where people RP.

I don’t think it would kill RP in WoW because RP in WoW is probably the biggest RP scene out of any MMO I’ve seen. At least when it comes to Moonguard, given that is more or less the last RP server left and it’s still going strong, likely because all the RPers are moving there.

I dunno, if they don’t enable you to see trade while at your house, or communicate with other players in a general channel, then I still see there being a need to go out to the city to at least pick someone up before adjourning to your house.

as long as theres no reason to be in your player housing other than aesthetics/roleplay. i dont want people staying holed up in there like with garrisons in wod

What? Blizzard is the one copying from other games, and those who fall victim to it are the ones you blame? Perhaps that was enough WoW forum for today…

wildstar…gold standard…
uhm why?

Wildstar housing was amazing. I will die on this hill (not talking about the rest of the game just the housing).

Yours was less sharing an idea and more attacking a straw man. Hope you find a healthier outlet for that anger.

Never played it. But now that some have mentioned it, it does make me curious.

You should YouTube some wildstar housing videos. Some are still around. I have never experienced another MMO with the same level of creative freedom in free-form building WS had.

I actually really enjoyed that game. Was sad when they announced they were shutting down the servers.

Oh sorry, I didn’t realize you were the arbiter of what counts as exchanging ideas. YES SIR, SORRY SIR!!1

Of course sweety.

It really does come down to that different people want different things.

You would be pleasantly surprised how many people would use it.

The difference being the degree it is used in comparison to other activities by an individual.

Saying it’s one or the other implies it’s equal weight which it isn’t.
