Guild Banks Pt. 14

Do guild banks alleviate some work on Blizzard’s end? If so, I can see these getting snuck in.

Obviously this doesn’t really change much of anything. It still costs the same all together unless you are lucky enough to get some specific mount that can be used at 100% speed. But the two that can (Frostsaber and Deathcharger) in the first few phases are incredibly difficult to obtain while the other three (Swift Zulian Tiger, Swift Razashi Raptor, and Black Qiraji Battle Tank) can not be obtained until later phases. What I am unsure of though is if the cost of the mounts reduce in price with reputation. I know the skill did which means less benefit in this system.

It significantly changes the meta, because you only get one mount. Under the newer model, you paid for training and then gathered all the mounts you wanted. Under this model, you pay for Saber Training, and you can ride the saber you also buy. You can’t buy another saber without a lot more gold, and you can’t ride Mechano Striders without both the mechano strider training AND a lot of gold for the epic.

The gold sink is far larger because you repeat the largest cost for every mount you want. If you only ever ride one mount, its the same. If you want more than one, its vastly more expensive.

That is not a change from vanilla. It is not even a change from 1.12.

The original mount/riding training system.was in use in 1.12.

Just stop.

I guess that is a fair thing to point to make, but keep in mind you only have to pay for the riding skill once compared to how it used to be in learning each riding skill. So this change only affects so much in terms of people just wanting to buy all the mounts. For those that are not concerned about mount collecting, nothing really changes.

Why do u have such an entitled attitude. jeez, “no changes” is so selfish and really illogical. How bout the fact they updated their technology to actually provide a base for classic vanilla? Hows your “no change” rant going to suffice now? you actually gross me out along with others like u im sorry

Brother, im on an alt but im here again to prevent these nochange mauraders lol

Stop what?

Pointing out the truth?

Correcting your intentional dishonesty?

It suffices in terms of what Blizzard consider acceptable for the Classic experience. Guild Banks will not happen because it will go against that. All changes within Classic currently either have no real affect on other players aside yourself (graphics and so on) or improve the experience such as requesting to join a party.

im confused bout your wording… Are you with me or against me. Because adding a gb isn’t going to affect the feel of classic like these mauraders of nochange will say it will. Im simply stating everything that has happened that changed to allow us to even play it. But they walk into it with their entitled nochange attitude.

I stand with Blizzard to be more accurate. Where things stand in Classic currently via the Beta seem to be pretty ideal for the Classic experience. So you could say that I am “no changes”, but only within a given parameter.

If adding GB’s isn’t going to affect “the feel of the game”, then not having them will not be any different “feeling”, right?

I can respect that then, I side with blizzard too, im not saying that they cant have opinions. But nothing blizzard does I feel anyways, would take any classic experience away. Maybe “sharding” or layering will be eh at the start but they have to do things like this because itll be like he11 when launch starts

so youre going to argue with me that you don’t care if theyre in or out? … Like I said? u just walked your whole argument into the forum grave lol… who cares if theyre in or out. Idk why u feel more entitled to cry over gb’s?

Not having guild banks is in keeping with vanilla while adding the non vanilla QOL convenience of guild banks to Classic would not be.

Imagine that. A retail wants the non vanilla QOL convenience of guild banks. Go figure.

Adding to this just as a side thought. If Guild Banks were to be added, that would mean that they would physically have to be added into banks. So that alone does have an affect on the “feel” for Classic as is on a visual medium. If we want to talk about how it affects the players though, it reduces communication between guild mates that might be requesting if anybody has a specific item to share or sell. This also takes into consideration of those rare negative scenarios where a guild master or player with appropriate permissions steals everything in the guild bank. The positive based on that prior statement is if a player is hacked, then only the player hacked will be affected in the current Classic system.

Edit: Clarification. Everything that I typed is not me taking a side. It is just informing of facts based on what affects Guild Banks have when and when not present.

The legend of the Guild Bank thread never dies, it seems.

All of these negativity effect the economy or offer alternate economic paths to get gold that were not part of classic, guild banks only effect the economy in removing gold, which would need to be done anyway to keep the classic economy from hyper inflating after the 2+ year mark, which would cause non vanilla economy.

All of these effect content consumption, as do the resistance and defence changes you mentioned and thus effect class balance and thus effect how classes are played/geared/exc.

Your trying to connect things unrelated to guild banks and use them to say “see guild banks bad” by pointing at other things.

Saying “apples are bad because everyone who has eaten them will or has died!” Is using the same logic your trying to use on guild banks being “bad”

Also your trying to assume I want retail because I want one change, which has a direct effect on scam prevention, blizzard customer service work load, account sharing prevention, exc. Is laughable. I play hunter, retail no longer has a hunter class in anything but name when compared to vanilla hunter.

My main reason for wanting guild banks is the security and scam prevention features it has over guild bank alts, because I got scammed in vanilla from a GBA, if you read the thread you would know this as I’ve mentioned it multiple times through the guild bank threads. But clearly you have failed to read and just jumped in the conversation with “herp derp no changes”

There’s already unused chests that can have a UI trigger added to them in every major bank (though I would suggest only adding it to SW and ORG)

Your also failing to mention the security and scam prevention features guild banks have, like the logs, permissions, exc.

Your ignoring the social aspects of guild members who don’t have permission to withdraw from the guild bank asking an officer or GM to send them an item from the guild bank and the fact you can still ask guildies if they have something even if it’s not in the guild bank. Guild banks don’t stop you from talking to people.

Guild bank alt thefts, scams, and clean out happened plenty of times in vanilla, adding guild banks doesn’t change it from happening, but it does give a log to see it happen so you can know not to trust “Timmy” any more and prevent future theft and scams from him.

But hay your “unbias” description seemed to leave a lot of that information out, and I didn’t even mention all of it.
