Still waiting on a single thing from the items that i’ve lost in the gbank worth millions (100m+). I’m a gold making enjoyer so if blizzard has no way to return the items iv had been collecting since 2006, i’ll be officially done with this game.

Oh I don’t believe for one second that they can’t restore the items, they just determined that the work to do so properly was way more than they are willing to put in. It’ll be cheaper in the long run to take their chances and see how many players actually un-subscribe. They don’t care one single bit about us, they only care about their KPIs.

The huge thread in bug report forum is now locked. I just wanted to say again how absolutely maddening, saddening, and disappointing it is that this cannot be fixed. I had 2 tabs of pets and 3 of transmog items, and another of just random things I was holding onto completely lost. As it seems only some reagents are being returned, I will never see these things again. I’ve been playing since OG beta and have always had a lot of faith in Blizzard to get things right, like when my account was hacked and my bank wiped out–it was remedied within hours of reporting it. After playing on and off again throughout BfA and SL, I had really fallen back in love with WoW with DF and all of the alt-friendly changes in TWW have me trying to convince old friends to come back. This just leaves a real sour taste in all of the good.

10,000s of items go missing for our guild banks and the only things restored were a couple of darkmoon quest items. No ore, cloth, pets, mounts, etc…
With the huge data loss is anything really safe?

How do y’all keep making these changes in production then just saying, “Oops”? You have beta and PTR servers…if I did something like this at work I’d most likely get fired and we’d probably get sued by multiple clients. Just wow.
You guys disappeared over 1000 items from my bank, nearly 500 slots of items and after weeks of work you were able to recover one item? I’m unsure how you don’t have logs when the bank log shows the items being deposited but never removed. Sounds more like you don’t have the will to put the time/money into restoring items by using the bank logs and what actually remains in the banks?
Y’all restored this rusty sickle for me…thanks.

Same, I put them in a bag and refuse to touch my guild bank still… hoping something will happen still but sounds highly unlikely.
So pissed off that they cannot just roll back individual gbanks to pre-bugged state if asked by the GM. Even more annoyed I can see many of my missing items in THEIR guild bank logs and yet they do not restore those.
It stinks of laziness and greed on their part and if it was really a technical challenge/impossibility (which it almost certainly is not), they should do like tech compagnies often do after big disaster and make a blog post detailing what happened, why it managed to make it to prod, what they did to (try) to recover, why they cannot do more and what they’ve done to prevent future occurences.

Everyone should keep an eye out for any attention this gets else where and boost it, like this video which has been linked recently:
yeah, its a little ramble-y and could have used some editing, but if a thumbs up and a comment can bring more light on this its a good thing!
If they continue to refuse to address this properly, the least we can do is keep trying to put their feet to the fire.
Edit: I also noticed that soulsobreezy mentioned it in a recent update video that covered multiple things. While he was kinda sympathetic, I was a little annoyed that the last word on the subject was something along the lines of “all we can do is move on.” I respectfully disagree.

They’re in the clear in the US, but in places like Australia with real protection laws, they may not be. A friend of mine familiar with Australian law said they could potentially be on the hook for refunds for the expansion and all the time after the issue started if they don’t properly resolve the issue (which they haven’t).

Is it safe to say that all items are returned by now? Because my guild master received zero items. There are literally bank logs from 1-2 months ago that have me depositing items and no log of them leaving, and even those items were not returned. This is absolutely NOT resolved

I have stopped putting gold into the GB at this point.
I only put enough gold into my warbank to transfer to the other character needs it and immediately login to that other character and withdrawal it.
I know they said they “resolved” the issue but how can anyone believe this now? I wouldn’t believe they said it was raining outside if I were in the middle of a monsoon.

Am I understanding that the very few in game mails that I received today with some cloth and ore are the ONLY reparation of missing items that will be issued? You are no saying that ALL of the rest of the lost items/old rep pieces/quest pieces/gear/food/other missing items will not be returned and we will not be compensated in any way for these huge losses???

I logged on this morning, and of course, no mail from Blizzard to my guild leaders. So I thought I might as well do some guild bank organizing, which is something I’ve been wanting to do anyway. I renamed a few tabs and got to work. A few minutes later I had to stop, my heart just wasn’t in it.
I tried to let it go and get on with life. Sometimes life sucks, sometimes it isn’t fair, but you still have to live and move on. But I just can’t. The trust isn’t there anymore and so the fun isn’t there anymore. This is so stupid, it’s just a video game, so why does it hurt so much?

I’m lucky in that I didn’t lose that much, and what I did lose wasn’t really of any consequence or value. But my bank still doesn’t “feel right” for lack of a better term.

As much as it hurts, everyone screwed over by this must cancel their subs, otherwise you send the message to them that it’s ok to delete our stuff, and you will continue to give them money regardless.
I’ve been playing since shortly before BC launched (the original BC, not classic), and have tons of time and money and love invested into World of Warcraft, but I have cancelled, with no plans of ever coming back unless something drastic changes in the resolution of this issue.
I urge you all to do the same.

All of the time collecting and saving things for specific reasons has been wasted now, and apparently will not be replaced. It’s infuriating and annoying and ridiculously unfair to players. More than one whole tab of our guild bank is 90% empty, when they were previously 100% full. Their response was slow, to begin with, and has NOT resolved the issue by any stretch of the imagination.

I think it ‘hurts’ so much because it feels like a betrayal from a friend, not an ‘honest’ mistake.
Let’s say that you’ve worked at a company for years, and they give out Christmas bonuses. They’re not legally obligated to give out bonuses or anything, but it’s been a great perk that you look forward to and makes you feel loyal to the company. So you work your butt off all year, going above and beyond, then Christmas rolls around and you find out your bonus is a year membership to the “jelly of the month club.”
While I personally got NOTHING back, for many people, nothing would have been better than the pittance they got back. It’s like a deliberate insult added to injury.
