I had 3 of 4 guild bank robberies. Bit of a collector of mats and such. 2 on Uldaman as Horde and 2 on Whisperwind as Alliance. I got the horde banks the old fashion way, begging for sigs. For the Alliance ones, I actually paid for 5 accounts to get it done. This will sound wasteful and dumb to most I know, but I also wanted the Jungle Hopper mount.
Both on Whisperwind had about 2/3 of stuff yanked while only 1 on Uldaman was stripped to the bone. I am having a hard time even wanting to log in and play. I feel the betrayal others are feeling. Itâs not just âstuffâ for some. Itâs the culmination of years of grabbing every thing that drops from the bad guys. 18 years of playing very casually. Blizzard should really do some soul searching, if it still even has one.
it was not âbasically the same issueâ. it was a completely different issue with a completely different cause, which is why they were able to help quickly and thoroughly. it has nothing to do with favoritism.
No no no, you leave Khadgar out of this.
Also while in Dalaran last night, I was scrounging for mats through characters, and ended up on an âabandonedâ guild I still have a character in. The tabs have been also wiped by the âbugâ.
UPDATE ON THE BANK ISSUE:
It appears that new cases of this are being dropped by CS into the bug forum. As speculated, these are people who were hit by the original bug, but just returned to game and noticed their GB is empty.
BLIZZARD is not giving these customers any explanation as to what happened or what they did about it. They are telling them to make posts in the Bug Forum in a new wave of disrespectful neglect. This is how BLIZZARD has chosen to treat their customers this way. Any doubt that this was unintentional can be tossed in the trash. If they really felt they had âfixedâ it, hey would happily pass that on to the new reporting customers.
Shame!

i see one new thread about it. are there others?
As speculated
by whom?

also possible: whichever CS rep got that ticket didnât know to direct them to this thread and sent them to bug report instead.
Not really a surprise by the lack of CS, GM and additional MS bots Iâm sure they are required to use now.
With adding a mount into the game that cost more than the epic version it tells me they didnât get the numbers, and that subscriptions might have taken a dip from month to month because of bugs.
Not that Iâm Blizzard, obviously, but I donât think thatâs the case. I think this mount was coming either way. If they wanted to pad their numbers for Blizzard-related stuff, the mount would have launched in September to get in under the wire for Q3âs numbers. I think this mount is, quite frankly, a âpay to winâ method of getting money from the players (either actual cash or via gold-to-tokens, which gets Blizz more money than the straight up cash).
The new mount is a vast departure from what weâve seen previously:
- It is only available with money
- It is the only mount that has both an Auctioneer and a way to retrieve/send mail
The first point is fine â lots of items are like that. Do whatever cosmetic thing you want to do with store stuff, Blizz, I donât care.
But the second point? That is a bought-and-paid-for in-game advantage. And that, my friends, spells trouble.
I think itâs their way of testing the waters on pay to win stuff â other in-game advantages that are available for money. One could argue level boosts are one of those things as well, though since they typically only get you to the max level of the previous expansion, I would argue not.
So this departure from cosmetics being sold to an actual advantage being sold⌠itâs troubling to me.
Again, though, I donât think itâs got to do with padding numbers related to the expansion. I think itâs just testing the waters for more pay-to-win items and is just a money grab.
Granted privately held companies do not need to follow the 1st Amendment
Microsoft is a public company, not privately held. Youâre right about the American amendment for Freedom of Speech, though â we donât have the right to come in here and say anything we want. Itâs still Microsoft/Blizzardâs playground and weâre subject to their terms of service. Meanwhile, the American first amendment guarantees other things: https:// www. law.cornell.edu/constitution/first_amendment (still canât post links apparently)
You can only post external links if you meet a minimum âtrustâ threshold on the forums. I donât know what the exact requirements are, however there is a workaround by using code formatting. To format the link in question, you use the ` key (generally shares same key with the ~ symbol) and place it both at the start of the text and at the end of it.
So itâd output like this: https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/first_amendment
Not as pretty nor convenient, but at least you wonât have to break up the URL.

Someone made a post, years ago, that outlined exactly what you needed to do to become trust level 3. I remember following it and getting to level 3, I could post links and videos and photos. Of course I didnât save that post.
Anyway, logged on today, no new mails from the Postmaster.

Luckily, turns out itâs pinned right here in the GD forum (not sure how I missed it all this time, rather embarrassing):

Looking over the requirements⌠I am definitely never making it to level 3 trust. Just too quiet a person with too narrow interests and no wish to simply scroll through random threads. Oh well.
Edit: Oh ew, you have to maintain level 3 trust? I suppose I can understand the reasoning of (maybe?) wanting the user to not reach that level and then fall behind the times, but still⌠If I had any lingering doubts before, theyâre gone now.
Wow, what a way to miss at least a major part of the point thatâs been repeatedly mentioned.
You, and the others who insist on trying to âmake it clearâ arenât Blizzard. You donât speak for Blizzard, you have no way to know the particulars.
The blue posts here have been carefully worded to avoid having to say what needs to be said by Blizzard - not by any other users in the forum - that this matter has been dealt with as far as it will be and there will be no additional restorations.
Clearly, they have kept this thread pinned for some reason - and with as long as the issue has been present, it doesnât seem like there would be much need to keep the thread, let alone keep it pinned.
And even then - what harm does it do you and the others who are providing nothing useful to this discussion to just let it be and walk past a conversation you are clearly not needed to be part of? Your commentary does nothing other than fan the flames; your buckets have no water for this fire. So why continue to participate unless you are deliberately doing so just to irritate those who do find this to be a concern and who are not satisfied with the lack of clarity and finality to the half-answers weâve been given? Thereâs no legitimate purpose to those kinds of statements youâre making - if the complaints bother you, donât come to the thread. Itâs really that simple.
i see one new thread about it. are there others?
Yes, I have seen 3 total so far. It appears they are being sent there, and then closed.
âAs speculatedâ in our original bug forum thread and this one. We very much figured people would return to the game for the anniversary after haitus and find their banks were wiped
I have to agree with what someone said about the long time subscriber reward or the lack of said.
For 20 years I had a sub, I even had two for some time since NA and EU were seperated and I was living abroad. I missed out on the statue somehow, I guess it was NA exclusive.
Anyways,
what he said about the anniversary is also my impression. Blizzard is trying to force us into TWW, by not unlocking all quests for us, making it even more difficult to get the necessary currency for the vendors.
BRD does not even drop loot for us, then the removal of my DF currency which was required to upgrade my DF gear, stuff I gathered by playing and paying for months. I always enjoyed maxing out my chars, while finishing all quests, transmogs and the like before moving on.
There was a time, you could play Blizzard games years in without a new expansion or addon, be it WOW or Diablo. It´s all gone now, either you finish it in time, or you are out of luck, because stuff just goes puff.
Why did we not get anything for our 20 years as a subscriber? No thank you email, no ingame reward, nothing!
Even my doctor gave me a bottle of champagne because I was with him for 15 yearsâŚ
Still nothing returned to the guild bank that lost 7 tabs of items. Canât bring myself to use it again, it can just sit empty. The end of my subscription is now counting down in days.
Just a reminder to everyone that there is an in-game feedback option. It probably doesnât get used much, but itâs there. There wonât be any response and it might just dump the feedback into some âunlooked atâ database, but it doesnât hurt to share your feedback on how you feel about Blizzardâs handling or response to their error.
Best of luck everyone!
You have to make a certain number of posts, read a certain number of posts, get a certain number of likes, and have no forum actions. Itâs also on a revolving 90 day timer, so if you donât keep up with the requirements you can lose it and have to earn it again.
I had a token sitting in my bags, I used it for the anniversary event and honestly? I donât even care. I want the stuff but the grind to get it, the fact that itâs so badly timegated, plus FOMO again, and then every time I look at my guild bank itâs just entirely empty. This kind of event would otherwise be something I adore, both from a gameplay and lore perspective, but my heartâs not in it. Whatâs the point in farming stuff when it could all just disappear, with just an âeh we tried whoopsie get over itâ response?
The sheer amount of goodwill blizzard could earn back just by saying âlook, we messed up, hereâs x amount of free months of gametime or increased drop rates for legacy stuff or something for everyone regardless of who was affected, weâre really sorry.â No one loses, blizz looks good, people are still sad about lost stuff but it hurts less when itâs properly acknowledged beyond a corpo-speak âapologyâ. Instead, nothing happens after two months of âmaybe weâll restore things, stick aroundâ, people unsub, blizz looks bad, and then they just release a $120AUD mount that immediately recoups any money they lost from subs.
Iâve been playing since Warcraft 3, I saved up to buy a graphics card just to play it, and to be treated like this is just. eugh. Just feels like the only thing blizz cares about now is the $$$, and not the people whoâve stuck with them for literal decades. Companies gotta make money, I get it, but this kind of profit>providing a good service/product is a rot infesting everything these days.
Anyway Iâve been playing Lethal Company with friends, and Metaphor Refantazio on my own, both are good games. Well worth the money.
To give credit where itâs due, they have buffed the acquisition of bronze tokens by over 8x. You can get them ridiculously fast now. Iâm already 75% through buying everything I want for the anniversary event. Keeping in mind I needed 60 + 40 for the first two sets, they only cost 20 now, and when you hit 100 you get an account wide buff on them.
I have the 13 sets, and Iâve bought the Death wing mount. Think I just need about 145 more tokens and I am done with the event completely. I just donât have enough time walking currency to buy all the cosmetics for chainmail, cloth, leather or plate classes.
The stuff you buy with timewalking currency will come back every time classic timewalking does. Only the bronze token stuff is limited to this event.
But yeah, itâs crazy how fast you get bronze tokens now.
Nod, I didnât start doing time walking stuff until 3rd or 4th season of Dragon Flight and only on my main character. So, I definitely donât have the reserves of currency and how they changed how thatâs earned now down it definitely will take longer to buy all the stuff we can get.
At least with Dark moon Faire, I finally got the 1000 ticket mount, now to save up again for other things. That one takes longer as I only go on the 1 day to get my crafting points and not again until the next month. That one I didnât start doing until the 2nd season of DF.
