Guild Bank Missing Items Bug -- Aug/Sept 2024

Well that sucks, i wish they would update this thread saying so, cause the only reason i still have a character in my old personal guild is to wait for this “restoration”

I do agree, I wish that they had made a post saying it was completed as well. That said, I am very confident in saying it has been finished, though I definitely understand the frustration on that particular lack of confirmation

They deliberately worded the post in an ambiguous way. They made it sound like most people would get everything back with some guilds only getting a partial restoration. What actually happened was, a few guilds got a tiny percentage of what they lost back, and most got nothing. The way the post is worded, it is “technically not a lie”. But I consider it a lie. Because as Captain Picard said, a lie of omission is still a lie.

No restorations are coming.

Reading the Bug Report forums has me quite honestly shocked. The ‘‘known’’ issues doesn’t list stuff that have been posted months ago, for other players. – So, if we report in Bug Forums and post a Bug Report in game and it’s still broken after a few years (in some folks’ cases) - I believe this may be how the state of things are going to be, going forward.

No response and no fix for a lot of them, over there. It’s possible Bliz doesn’t even know there’s a problem. . . I don’t think they’re looking at Bug Report forums or in game reported issues. I don’t think they have the staff, or the current folks don’t know it’s there. Like serious communication issues, in-house.

The game is in such a state. I realized as I was out of phase for most dungeon groups, this morning - that I CARE ABOUT THE GAME MORE THAN BLIZ DOES! ! !

The Bug Report forums is being led by the customers in terms of assistance - especially if it’s something the CS guys no longer can help with. The players are coming up with work-arounds.

@___@

I know a couple of work-around that may help folks, in there. I’m going to try and reach out to them, as I’ve experienced a few.

I wish we could help w/the crazy deletions of progress. I wonder if the rep/valor/gold/tmog deletions were associated w/our GB deletion in that same patch? Or if they were happening before hand? This has me most concerned for the future and has put the brakes on my game-play time.

If Bliz decides that this ^ basic stuff that’s been paramount to the game since the game came out - is no longer important, what the heck does that make the game, now? I’m so afraid to continue. And it sucks, bkz I love healing. Dangit.

I definitely haven’t had the urge to play at all, lately. As much as I love WoW.

I think Bliz has their hands full. They have bugs going back years, according to the BR forums, and they haven’t fixed it, don’t know about it, or don’t care about it?

How did the Classic Cata guys get CS and we totally did not?! They have some staff there - but not in retail? lol X) Or retail CS guys have been given different orders about not responding to us. . . It’s mind boggling.

I wonder if the CS that are associated with our situation and locking our posts - even asks the powers over them if this is a good idea to ignore us if … they want customers to stay subbed?

Sorry for the tirade about bad cs again, on my part.
Apologies. lol

Also! I’ve noticed a couple of us from the Maw helping folks in BR that are just discovering the GB shtuff. Thank you so much for giving those players an actual, clear answer!! - I was so glad to see it, because it is a succinct summary of what has happened to us all. – And I hope your post is seen by the players needing it before the CS people delete it! Customer-no-service-rrraaaahhhh! D:

What I ask myself is if the known issues and how well The War Within has launched, does it spell disaster for the entire saga of three expansions. With adding a mount into the game that cost more than the epic version it tells me they didn’t get the numbers, and that subscriptions might have taken a dip from month to month because of bugs.

It’s concerning that they continue to sanitize the forums of posts they think are negative about the game. The company will not get better if they hide the fact the made a horrible mistake and not being transparent to let people know about it.

Granted privately held companies do not need to follow the 1st Amendment, the Freedom of Speech as that’s only a protection from the United States Government.

All you have to do is look outside of these forums to see the reality of corporate capitalism. People like Haterate and Kiyoko probably troll Boeings forums too, being cheerleaders/apologists-nonapologists for things like a plane crash.

The name Blizzard is merely a label and no longer what the actual Blizzard game company once was.

I stopped by the Classic Bug Reports to see if it had been fixed for them yet.

It was fixed, and I’m glad that they got their things back.
They had a very helpful QA blue, and I’m thankful that their blue was so helpful and informative.

However, I’m disgusted that we over here have been treated in such a :poop: manner. I don’t care about getting my things back anymore - I’d kept all of those things to put towards progression in professions, but between this issue, the lost reputations and honor and mounts and everything else, I realized working towards character progression would only be a wasted effort. Those things have been lost and not restored, so why wouldn’t professions be handled the same if they haven’t already been affected for others?

This is a game in which hinges on character development and progression. In the big steaming heap of issues and bugs that have cropped up over the last months, the majority of them can be considered to be progression-affective. None of the bugs that I’ve kept up with have been fixed.

This expansion, once it started to bug out, has been a progression-killer.

The player drive for character progression is what drives engagement and puts positive ticks on the metrics that they ought to love so much: number of active players, active play time, etc; active players means revenue.

But no; let’s fail to fix any of the issues that have been reported over and over again, make character progression a pointless endeavor, and lose subscriptions and loyal customers whose losses can be explained away as expected attrition - but on the up side, there’s a new $90 mount!

It’s pathetic and predatory, and speaks to a massive lack of pride in their company and a loss of confidence in their product.

Looks like they finally disabled warband currency transfers since that was deleting stuff too. Wonder if they’ll use the “partial restorations” line again.

I wonder if their blue know retail blues? Or maybe they aren’t in the same building or something? O,<"?

Can we ask the nice, Classic blue if they see our situation? ><“” lol

It’s awful they’re going to do another Plunderstorm when they cannot seem to be bothered to fix any serious issues in game, at the moment.

Classic had a visual bug, not data loss.

I never claimed it was the same bug.

That’s not the point and you know it.

They had a VERY active and helpful QA agent, wheras we got the one post.

Someone posted that they lost a lot of stuff in the Warbank today, and got it returned by a GM in game.

I feel. Quite sad.

How do I not take this personal? :frowning:

Reminder: do not engage ! plz put them on /ignore!

Data loss.

Whether they like you or not is immaterial. If they have the data for one item, and don’t have the data for the other, it is obvious which item can be restored and which cannot.

Yeah, I know. But then, how do I get to laugh at their own bug, and hope it’s not “data loss”?

That’s the way I interpreted Blizzards comment. If there was anything to recover you would have already received the objects and that there would be no more recovery attempts.

Yeah, between the message and my three or four Wildercloth bags I received, that is my understanding on the situation. Don’t think it would’ve killed them to state that part plainly though.

Wow – that is kind of sad – I mean great for them but bad for us.

Just ignore the trolls. No idea what they said (and don’t care) but I can imagine whatever nonsense they spewed I was able to say the same thing with more meaning and thought just by sitting :toilet:
