Guild Bank Missing Items Bug -- Aug/Sept 2024 (Part 2)

That would be, it would cost too much to fix your toon, and our accountants have assured us that the losses would be acceptable, what with our NEW dopey dino mount that the suckers will eat up…

I’m similar - the way Blizzard handled this basically tilted me from being a Blizzard fan to someone who will still play WoW, because I enjoy it, but will no longer spend any additional money I don’t have to, will no longer be “in their corner” and will no longer buy their games just because they’re made by Blizzard.

I’ve gone from trusting that they know what they’re doing and that they’re doing their best for their customers to make the content they deserve, with the support they deserve, to believing that customers are nothing but representations of income and that, although they may still have SOME who enjoy playing WoW, the majority are there just to see how much money they can make from us.

Even the player housing - after so many years of people begging for it, seeing so many other games actually include player housing but Blizzard being resolute in not having it - I suspect the main reason for it now is to try and distract us from some of the other stuff going on - like their inability to protect our data or provide adequate support - and perhaps try and retain/attract back more customers/money. Waving a shiny in front of us whilst cutting our legs out from under us …

That’s pretty much me. I went from someone who happily went to Blizzcon and cheered for them when they did well, and was a proud World of Warcraft player, to someone who just plays. Most of my friends don’t play anything else if and if they do, it’s usually very brief. I actually DON’T like MMOs or other online games, but something about WoW got me when I first started. If I play anything, it’ll probably just be some slight cozy game or even something on console.

Even with that I find that I’m less engaged, though that STARTED during Shadowlands and just got a lot worse once this issue happened.

While I AM looking forward to Player Housing (and hope that that will bring friends back that don’t play as much these days) the excitement I would have had say, 10 years ago isn’t there. I’m afraid of how much they will monetize - directly or indirectly because I KNOW that’s their focus now. By that, I mean . . . for example, I think the PROFESSIONS are somewhat monitized but indirectly. They’ve made so much of the mats rare (and the quantity you need too high, especially higher quality) that I’m sure there are people out there - crafters and people who put in work orders, who break down and just BUY gold to get what they want. (Doing “patron” work orders is probably one of the quickest way to gain KNOWLEDGE and those CAN cost quite a bit of mats). Anyway, got slightly off track, but that’s the kind of thing I’m afraid they’ll do with house-related STUFF. They can say “SEE? We’re not selling it on the STORE” but make the cost of things (or if crafted, cost of mats) prohibitive that they KNOW some will just get gold tokens.

Years ago, I thought it would have been cool if (because my guildies and I have spent HOURS fantasizing about how we wanted Player Housing to be implemented if it ever was) if we could use OLD MATS and get recipes from OLD EXPANSION PROFESSION VENDORS to MAKE stuff themed after old content (Icecrown-looking saronite chair? Blood-Elf themed rug made out of netherweave or even something like Spellcloth?) BUT if that happened now, it would just make me really sad, remembering just HOW MUCH OF THOSE OLD MATS I used to have and how ready I would be for so much of it.

I’m gonna invest in a crapload of popcorn when they launch player housing, and I’m going to live on the bug reports forum.
I wonder if the housing will have STORAGE. . . .

Hey Blizz it me again, you lost my guild bank. I’ve heard of void storage but this is ridiculous.

Most annoying thing for me is I took screenshots of all my guild banks literally two days before the loss happened, but they won’t accept it as proof. Some of them even have in-game logs showing they were deposited but never removed, yet they are no longer there, but apparently those aren’t good enough?

RIP to

Of all of it, the 400 khorium ore hurts the most.

Yeah, that sucks the most. I’ve noticed that all of the ‘best ores’ in other expansions (including Vanilla) have the alchemical ability to be produced either one bar a day or in bulk EXCEPT khorium.

Cost me almost 250k gold to buy that amount of khorium. It’s not an exaggeration to say the guild bank fiasco lost me dozens of hours worth of gameplay spent either farming or making gold.

Which is one of the other things that’s bugged me lately - that one guild on WoW Classic died to a DDoS and got their characters rolled back to be alive within two days. A bunch of people who lost like three hours of being able to play a few weeks ago got a free $65 (for me, at least) pack of five mounts as compensation.

A bunch of us effectively lost potentially dozens of hours worth of playtime and it took over a month to finally get told “Sorry, nothing we can do and no compensation”.

IT BEGINS…

Sounds like its time for a new store mount, so head on over.

$120 this time…sorry not sorry

What are you referring to?

I felt like today was going to be the day. It wasn’t. I don’t know if you know me but I have a certain set of skills. And in these skills are professions and in these professions they require items. They were in my guild bank, I had my authenticator on, and you still LOST my bank. Its not like I left the door open and the dog got out. Is this mic on?

If they only spent as much dev time on QA as they did ensuring that Brann always stands where you are trying to click.

:joy: Oh, man, thank you so much for the chuckle, Oldranger. That was pretty good. :joy:

Haha made me laugh too! The amount of time I’ve spent trying to get Brann to move, or changing my camera angle “just so” to be able to pick something up - doesn’t help that those little treasure bags are sometimes just soooo small …

Bran is definitely a pain in the behind sometimes. But not as much as someone trying to silence me on this topic. I have returned!

I still get angry and upset every time I look at my guild banks. I have been trying to enjoy this game. It just isn’t the same. Even raid nights aren’t a big draw for me. Between the guild bank and how they demolished the professions, it is just one big UGH!
They even nerfed the Darkmoon Faire from 5 profession levels down to 2. So now, we not only do not have the mats to do the professions, we get our catch up nerfed too.

Do better Blizzard/Microsoft.
If you have the money to buy a defunct nuclear power plant, then you certainly have the money to pay a few people some temporary time to return our items!
Lastly, just know, if I go missing from this thread permanently, it is not by my choice.

THEY. DONT. CARE.

They’ve already banked your cash and don’t need to worry about the small % of people affected by this…

Besides, one reskinned mount on the store will more than cover the people who had the will to quit.

Let’s hope they have different developers/IT folks to take care of 3 Mile Island. Seems ironic they are buying/reopening a reactor that had a melt down… You just can’t make this up.
