Even if they can’t/won’t recover the data, even if they won’t compensate people, even if they won’t provide any kind of response to this thread, why can’t they just give a straight yes/no answer?

A yes or no, would hold them accountable, a vague statement will not. I have more and more the feeling that they have no clue what really happened or what caused it.
