What they should do is check whatever prior save they have right before this happened (presuming they do have those… as many many folks have said, it’s hard to imagine a company like this would not have backups and redundancies to those backups as part of regular practice) and then just restore those guild banks as they were, without trying to cross reference what might have been taken out since or anything like that. Sure, some folks might reap some significant benefits from it, but it’s a far better idea than ticking off what could be a large portion of the playerbase (esp. with the warband bank issues on top of that). That would be far more fair than giving us other compensation or otherwise trying to do the whole thing half-baked. Admit fault, restore regardless of any potential duplications it might cause, and then make sure something like this doesn’t happen again. We shouldn’t have to pay the price, as it were, for what they’ve messed up.
Not that it’s likely to happen. But if I’d made such a mistake, I’d rather make it good despite any perceived cost to me versus passing that on to whomever was affected.
