Guild Arguement about "Feral Druid"

People also had to actually gear up properly and take more than a week to clear MC in vanilla. Period.

So I just witnessed the difference between a bear and warrior tank first hand today.

Your guilds dumb if they aren’t letting someone bear tank. It legit beats warriors outright until later in the game. Cat druids are another story, though…

My actual experience:
I’m leveling as a cat and tanking dungeons. I want to tank raids when I hit 60. I’m having a ton of fun. If Feral is your thing, stick with it. There’s really nothing else to it.

I say everyone play wuth whatever class set up you want. Sure itll be harder to get into raids instances. But the ones you so youll enjoy.

I have answered some LFGs to be a tank and denied ‘cause I don’t wear plate on multiple occasions. The community is absolutely opinionated against druids, doesn’t matter how good they actually are. It doesn’t help that it requires farming a weapon from Gnomer while other classes basically have access to their best for ‘free’.

It never gets easier. You gotta really want to be a druid, and you gotta enjoy the class enough to accept you will be passed over repeatedly for classes that have fewer innate challenges against them. Rogues and warriors will get priority over your leather and untyped armor respectively. Just the way it is.

I am still playing a druid because I love them that much.

Windfury Totem does not affect Cat Form because it is an enchant to the weapon, and Cat Form does not attack with their weapon.

There are Feral Druids that know what they’re doing (best DPS parses logged so far) that are still lucky to be doing half the DPS of their Warrior/Rogue counterparts. Sorry, but Feral DPS just isn’t good.

Skarm was able to tank most of Nax as a feral Druid in private servers. The private servers were way overtuned. But this is also considering that Skarm is an excellent tank.

Like, there are definitely good feral tanks. But it doesn’t matter how good they are, people won’t take them seriously - especially if they haven’t played on private servers, which… to be fair, is probably most people.

I look at it this way - a non hybrid class does 100% dps. So lets take rogue; 100% dps. And lets call this value instead - so your value as a rogue is 100% - which is entirely dps.

Anything feral can do pulls from that dps value - so you can brez; that cost you some % dps. You can buff, you can off heal, you can taunt/tank - all paid for with slightly less dps…

So ultimately you still contribute 100% value but its just spread differently and depends on how your guild values your benefits. Maybe they dont need another brez? All i know is feral is viable in raids as a tank for certain bosses

Pro tip for current feral tanks. The AOE meta can be taken advantage of by bears. take the actual beat tank talents for reduced cost on swipe and maul, and the increase damage by 20% on them and the crit return rage. TAKE THE IMPROVED THORNS damage 3 points. Enrage before pull tab swipe and let ur white hit a target before tab again. You will be able to keep aggro on several enimies at once. Mages and hellfire locks will love you.

You never played vanilla. We killed Ragnaros in semi green raid. But druids were still healing only. Until BC. So fo back to retail and never come back.

I doubt there are any reliable parses of a good cat dps, yet. Shedo still wasn’t 60 as of yesterday, and there are only a handful of others out there who’ve learned it on Pservers.

I think they’re fairly reliable, and what you’re seeing is the limits of Feral, barring some lucky RNG.

Maybe with gear and some time, the parses will get slightly better, but for now, Feral Druid DPS looks to be pretty bad.

If someone could come along and prove it’s any good, they haven’t done so yet. Until that happens, I won’t be holding my breath.

No don’t hold your breath. In about three weeks, look and you’ll start to find them. Again, you’ll have to restrict to alli-side melee, only, for the correct distribution to exclude windfury benefitters. AQ40 is when the cat clique will actually start to shine and top the warrs, about the same time rogues start dropping off toward mid-pack.

Of course you can. Only hardcores / min maxers will say otherwise.

I think he also claims feral tanks are simply better then warriors early on and up to about AQ? but they aren’t able to tank certain bosses. Neff for example for cat call. I think skarms info is pretty darn good so I think I might want to believe this. Also I think this was mostly from private server experience so who knows.

What would suddenly appear 3 weeks later that hasn’t appeared now? Wolfshead Helm was craftable from the very beginning, and MCPs are super easy to farm.

Highest parsing Warriors are almost entirely Alliance, though.

The players who actually play feral to start logging. Had a look at Warcraftlogs, and no, none of them are there yet. Shedo will probably start putting up numbers in a couple weeks, but three is when he’ll likely start hitting stride. The others in the crowd, I’m not sure; haven’t looked at them.

Which mainly has to do with the distribution of guilds clearing content in this first month.

Sounds like people just wanting to be elitest including yourself. It is a 15yo game just let people play and have fun. If you don’t want them in your guild then leave or kick them, but if you find that you always run into these issues then the problem is most likely you.

They’re already doing that.

What do you mean none of them are there yet? There’s hundreds of logs.

Right alongside the rest of the Feral Druids, maybe slightly ahead of them.

Not quite.
