Guild Arguement about "Feral Druid"

Why do so many people have this if you ain’t first you’re last mentality?

OP didn’t ask if they could be #1 dps in the raid as a feral, OP was asking if its viable. The answer is yes it is a middle tier dps viable spec. Period.

This raises an important question. How many hours will be spent farming gnomer for MCPs, not to mention the bag space lost; and is it less hours than leveling and gearing a rogue?

To anyone with any sense, there is no merit to dedicating to dps as feral. “Making it work” amounts to farming yourself to death to not even be the top melee dps, but to get close enough to it. It’s silly.

I think you’re just another sheep following guides on wowhead and reddit thinking it’s a bible.

That all does sound rather dreary, I have to admit.

There is a fair amount of farming anyone has to do to be raid ready with consumables, but you’re right, the Feral has one extra step in getting more MCPs. Outside of maybe Thistle Tea, I’m not sure any other additional prep work is there for a Rogue.

But then again, I have no intention of going hardcore Feral DPS as I’ll be Tanking. I’ll still gather MCPs but only when I really need the TPS boost.

the game isn’t hard in its current state. anyone can play anything basically as long as they do the few basic mechanics that even exist

Since it’s on patch 1.12 they are probably OK in raids given the utility druids gained. Many people are probably thinking back to how they were at the start of vanilla when feral was very trashy, not viable at all in raids.

Can you casually PvP And raid as feral?

Yes

Casually? Sure.

Feral tanking is legit and it is even in the interest of the best raiding guilds to have at least one feral tank. Your spec may not be great for PvP though.

Cat DPS has the potential to do about 90% of the lowest performing pure DPS class (hunters) if you min/max and farm those Manual Crowd Pummelers. Don’t expect to ever top meters.

At the end of the day resto will get you into raids the easiest. And in PvP you’re still a support class even if you’re feral. You’ll still be expected to heal when it makes sense.

Dude, I am playing and raiding as a druid, the memiest of the horde races.

I understand that you have no point if I am not elitist, so you have to insist that’s true no matter what anyone says.

Raid gear for druids is definitely geared towards healing. That is the obvious raid design for the class.

Because of idiosyncrasies in the way that bear tanking and cat dps work mechanically (compared to other classes), there are oddball combinations of gear that make these specs work at a raid level, provided the player is willing to farm this gear and generally tryhard.

Thread. Content is too easy, you can go full oomkin and act as a healer and get the job done if you try hard.

why would they look at your last for drops?

classic content is so easy there is really no such thing as a progression raid group unless you’re playing with the worst of worst players.

honestly, loot council doesn’t even make sense in classic considering the reality that progression raiding is non existent. it only serves to funnel prestigious items to the ‘in crowd’ or egotistical guild leaders/officers, with little to no merit behind the decision making.

Reading comprehension is hard for some… Keep trying! You’ll get it!

This is what needs to happen. An all hybrid, or all meme build guild. All druids, shaman/paladins, hunters, and priests.

I would love to be a part of such an endeavor.

Rogues and Fury warriors will just always do more damage , that’s pretty much why. You’ll get gear, just after they are already geared.

Doesn’t the fact that you’re raiding as a level 55 and not a 60 prove the point that druids can raid and that raiding is, in fact, much easier than people remember?

Also as a side note, basically all private servers have to buff up their raid bosses because the actual raid bosses from vanilla are way too easy and players complain otherwise that “oh the server nerfed the boss.”

Not directed at anyone, just thought I’d share.

Its not all about dps…more to the game than that

If people are doing raids with less than max players, why wouldn’t any spec be viable then?

Too many people round here claim you need to be x class with bis etc etc.

Maybe if I was going for record times or something. This will never be the case for me personally though as that type of content is boring imo. To each their own I guess.

If a entire raid of meme specs can down Rag, then there’s no reason to exclude a handful from a raid.
