I just dont have the damage output to kill the adds fast enough, kill the eyes, and then swap to moonkin before a new set of adds are already out. So i get like 1 cast in moonkin
even with potioning to start (unbridled) which was incredibly helpful, im still only getting the boss down to like 30%. A lot of the times valen is getting killed though, or the infernal died close to him and respawns on me, so maybe i gotta move the adds more. Annoying as heck tho
Everyone has more or less the same damage because of scaling, so youâre likely goofing some globals. If you record and post your attempt(s) here, I can try to help!
Iâve been getting into Phase 2 fairly often now that Iâm getting the hang of it. I always reset to the right of Variss
And a single Moonfire (i swap to Moonkin first) is enough to kill the eyes - keep MF and SF up on the Infernals and just stay away. I donât have too many issues with them.
Ya thats exactly what I was doing. and always be using globals for damage, even if its to just redot variss. Only need one moonfire to kill the small eyes like you said, and dotting infernals makes them die a LOT faster.
Why would you DoT infernals? They individually have as much health as the first boss, bring themselves to low health (20%?) by themselves, are much less dangerous once they reach low health (stop doing AoE damage, knock back much less) and take dramatically increased damage while at low health (which is arguably bad since that makes you kill them and refill their health faster, but it does give free leech if you have any)
Hitting them with anything but free AoE is a waste of time.
not sure how to post logs, or if i have any, but i hadnt been doting the infernals. Ill give that a try. i pulled about 500dps without pot and 700 with it, tho some of that may be pad damage. I also think my secondary stats and trinket kinda stink for this with so much crit but idk its probably still doable.
the main issues are the netherstorm adds. Iâve tried to thrash and moonfire them down, and incap when they aoe. But those seem to be the worst adds for me to kill timely. Iâve had to resort to using orbs to clear them especially if they aoe when the boss is about to life drain
Iâve also had valen randomly die at least 10 times, not sure whats happening there

i am, but even with that they dont go down that fast. I have also noticed that i must not be pressing it early enough, because by the 3rd/4th set of adds, bark skin isnt up till a few seconds after they are on me. but that is a good point and probably whats stopping me
Two reasons. First, it creates a window for a favorable push timing where you can kill the infernal as soon as kruul spawns for maximum uptime.
Second, you do NOT want to ignore them entirely except for passive cleave, because then youâll have 2-3 die at the same time⌠which means youâll also have 2-3 RESPAWN at the same time. Thatâs VERY rough in p2, because if that overlaps with a 3-4 stack annihilate that damage can push you over the edge. Also, itâs way easier to dodge one smash than two
Finally, thereâs so much movement that youâll realistically get more overall dps by using a free global to dot than any reapplication and it offers more control. AND itâs more CGuardian procs
Tl;Dr it controls the pacing during p1 in a way that makes it so youâll never have more than one infernal at a time which makes you a lot safer due to less spiky damage and fewer knocks.
Yep! They spawn Every ~36s and barkskin lasts 12 with a 40s cd. So you press it early the first time, then off cd!
Just completed it myself after 20 something attempts. Actually, I died on my 5th annihilate and Velen finished the last 2% for me . Feel like the nether horrors are bit overtuned (hp-wise) and feel like our damage is a bit low. But that could be because the original MT was designed around our borrowed powers and we canât use ours this time around.

Potion of unbridled fury is currently 9k on my realm lul⌠will have to get a toon up in alch to get them. Not paying that price.
This old mama bear is angry-ish. Still not saying it should be nerfedâŚyet xD Will have to try again tomorrow. Wish there was a parent edition. I canât do anything that requires a lot of attention till my kids are in bed. My biggest âpanicâ is knowing there is only a couple weeks and then many months till it can be attempted again. If you have an alch, you can farm a stack or two in like 20 min in nazjatar. Not the most fun, but definitely more time/gold efficient than paying 9k.
Iâd also recommend saving pot and lust for kruul. Youâll definitely need it because he has more HP and needs to die faster, and also itâll save you gold in the long run.
100% sympathize with you on this. IMO it should ALWAYS be up (or maybe just up whenever the mage tower is on NA servers or something) because months in between is absurd.
Iâll try and upload one tomorrow, I was kind of hoping for a livestream of somesort. Iâve played Guardian since BFA and Iâve timed higher M+ keys (15-20) with it. Iâm legit about to pull my hair out lol.

Take a break! If youâve timed 15-20s, then youâve got more than enough know-how to do it, just gotta figure out whatâs going wrong. Also, it will not hurt at all to farm the timewalking gear. My buddy just did it with full timewalking sockets using the same strat I did, and killed it a full 75s faster. He was doing ~45% more damage than me LOL
Yeah, if I canât get it before the end of tomorrow, I think thatâs what Iâll have to do. I did get a Legion legendary from a vendor and it seems like itâs helped someâŚbut not a whole lot.
