Guardian Druid Bottom tier for both M+ and Raids

Sorry if you don’t like facts, but those ARE the facts.

You can check the number of parses, per tank, for each tier, when the tier was current, on warcraftlogs.

Druid was the most popular tank in Emerald Nightmare but it was close (only slightly ahead of Warriors) and same for Tomb of Sargeras (only slightly ahead of Death Knights.

Death Knight was the most popular tank in Antorus. By far.

Druid was the most popular tank in Nighthold.

Those are the facts. What I “constantly” remind people is that the following statements are false:
Druids were the top tank for all of Legion (false)
Druids were the top tank for almost all of Legion (false)
Everybody had to switch to Druid in Legion (certainly false)

These are memes. Just because a meme gets repeated a lot doesn’t make it true.

Nope.

All through out ToS, Guardian was never alone in being at the top with number of parses relative to the other tanks; Blood DK was also extremely strong as well. In fact, Mythic KJ – there is a very small fine line between Guardian druids and BDK relative to everyone else.

The ONLY reason that Guardian did well on KJ regarding his damage was how FR was designed back then; we effectively were equivalent to a Death Knight with how our healing model was designed; hence why both of Guardian and BDK did quite well in a raid where short bursts of damage were common place.

Yep, and frankly its situations like this which lead to the design team making such drastic changes to FR that we end up with the half-baked model we have now. The designers have no idea how to swing the pendulum the other direction without over-compensating and swinging too far imo.

Frankly he isn’t downplaying it – its simply the spec isn’t performing anywhere close to the middle of the pack unlike Prot Paladin that had no problem remaining middle of the pack throughout Legion.

Lets look at current statistics as of today from raider-io and warcraft-logs.

Mythic Uldir
Death Knight - 27617 parses
Monk - 21840 parses
Paladin - 12596 parses
Warrior - 9540 parses
Demon Hunter - 5506 parses
Druid - 4644 parses

Mythic BoD
Death Knight - 33643 parses
Monk - 25295 parses
Paladin - 16749 parses
Warrior - 15962 parses
Druid - 4926 parses
Demon Hunter - 4690 parses

M10+
Death Knight - 33988
Warrior - 23494
Paladin - 22881
Monk - 17601
Demon Hunter - 13688
Druid - 7906

M15+
Death Knight - 4795
Warrior - 3663
Paladin - 2425
Monk - 2042
Demon Hunter - 918
Druid - 455

M20+
Warrior - 179
Death Knight - 127
Paladin - 48
Monk - 39
Demon Hunter - 14
Druid - 4

While you may have had lower number of parses for one Mythic tier, Prot Pally was in no way bottom of the barrel relative to the remainder of the pack at any point during Legion.

God that warrior fotm stats, that used to all be blood dks not too long ago

Warrior is strong. Good/lucky use of avatar can make the tank top the meters on certain M+ pulls or reaping packs.

It’s real hard to compete with that.

Especially when you don’t have a DPS cooldown AT ALL. :frowning:

I don’t want a dps CD, I just want our damage to be increased by 30%

Well, that would be nice, but that would actually make us the 5th-highest DPS tank on Mekkatorque, and Blizzard will never do that.

I mean… imagine that. 5th-highest DPS tank? It’s unthinkable.

Guardian Druids absolutely dominated Legion all throughout. Funny how when they’re crap now people go ballistic. It’s like when a child starts throwing a temper tantrum when their favorite toy is taken away.

Suck. On. It.

Found the butthurt BDK!

Its more like when your child is doing super well then gets hit by a bus and is now in the hospital and no one wants to play with him because he has a broken knee and is in a coma. But I guess you would like that? I got my own to suck, thanks.

I agree their time to shine should be gone but that dosent mean they should be left out to die.

That statement is really beginning to annoy you, isn’t it Tewa? Not that I blame you. It’s the usual people repeating the same dumb things like a bunch of parrots because they kept hearing it over and over. Never bothering to check for themselves if it was true.

I like facts.

Eh, not really false.

Guardian Druid was the best Nighthold onwards.

This is exactly what we need

Guardian was the most represented in raids until the last raid. Don’t look at the chart, look at the ‘number of parses’ at the bottom

Guardian most popular:
Nighthold (in 7.1.5)
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/11#class=Tanks&dataset=90&region=1
nighthold (after 7.2)
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/11#class=Tanks&dataset=90

Tomb (after 7.3)

Tomb (before 7.3)
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/13#class=Tanks&dataset=90&region=1

Guardian not most popular
Antrorus
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/17#class=Tanks&dataset=90&aggregate=amount

Guardian was not the best in mythic+, but they weren’t bad either. It’s just that one other tank dominated. My experience was that DH was popular, too, for high keys and that Guardian was never a sought-after tank for high keys.
https://raider.io/mythic-plus-rankings/season-7.3.2/all/world/leaderboards-strict#role=tank:mode=unique:minMythicLevel=20:maxMythicLevel=24

At the ‘release’ of mythic+, the tanking near the top was a little more even. Guradian was the most represented then, but not by a considerable margin…
https://raider.io/mythic-plus-rankings/season-7.2.0/all/world/leaderboards-strict#role=tank:mode=unique:minMythicLevel=20:maxMythicLevel=24

… and by the next season, the tanking order had been settled until the end of the expansion:
https://raider.io/mythic-plus-rankings/season-7.2.5/all/world/leaderboards-strict#role=tank:mode=unique:minMythicLevel=20:maxMythicLevel=24

This all also assumes these reporting tools are working and are trustable.

And the last raid was the entire 2nd half of the expansion.

Which is why statements like “Guardian Druids absolutely dominated Legion all throughout.” are lies.

Not being the most played doesn’t mean they weren’t the best, bud.

It’s indisputable that Guardian Druid was the best tank throughout Legion.

Veng DHs were one of the weakest tanks for raiding yet they were the best in Mythic + along with Blood DKs. Turns out mobility and self-healing is really good in dungeons but not in raiding. Who knew?

Why do you think every top guild in Nighthold onwards ran two Guardian Druids? Because of Stampeding Roar? Please.

I’m not really understanding your point. Even if bears were as good in Legion as you are claiming, how would having been good at claws in ToS be of any help now? Have you ever been in a group that used ToS AotC as their criteria for acceptance?

If this guy says it’s “indisputable”, clearly his intended reading audience is people who don’t know anything about this issue.
