Guardian buffs

the 2 buffs will be beneficial for keys under 20 but above you still have too much magic damage issues

To Echo Others, Mastery needs more of a buff. Right now it is not really a value stat due to how much it has been nerfed. On my druid with 2100 Mastery, I get 9.8% Health and healing.
2100 Vers gives about 17.5% damage and healing, along with 8.5% reduced damage taken.

There is still the problem of getting trucked by magic damage, and the ramp up time of ironfur.

I will use my DH as comparison. You pop demon spikes, and you immediately know your mitigation is working. With guardian, you charge in, build Rage pop an IF, feel squishy, then pop another to stack it. Then another. At 3 stacks Ironfur starts to feel like its working.

Guardian needs more dodge, more health, and more passive armor. Guardian also desperately needs some magic DR.

Use “Rage of the Sleeper” on the pull, which has a 1 minute cooldown. Or use Barkskin, which has a 42 seconds cooldown, being reduced to 32 seconds with the buff, that’ll be back off cooldown before you’ve even managed to scratch your nose. Now, if only more people would interrupt and not stand in cleaves…

Will help pvp bears though lol, we still stack mastery for flag carrying, not that anyone cares ig.

And stop taking Brambles and start taking Bristling Fur which is a 40 second cool down (lines up with Barkskin) and you’ll have 2-3 stacks of IF when you’re normally getting your first stack.

You don’t want to use bristle fur with barkskin lol what

Generally, no, but the higher the keys go, the more you need a defensive rolling every pull and as much as possible.

Start your pull with BS. Back half you can pop BF and while barkskin is reducing your rage generation by 20%, by the time BF ends you can have 3-4 stacks of IF (waste to go higher), and enough rage for a couple Razes (if you play that way) and a back up FR.

Just because things line up doesn’t mean you pop them together. But the fact you can continually use it safely on the back end of a defensive and it’s always lining up that way is great.

Let’s not get noobish here. Guardians survive by properly rotating CDs. Just because things line up doesn’t mean they have to be used together. But the fact they can be consistently used thanks to lining up

Not sure if it is possible to make us more reliant on cooldowns

From what I’ve seen this adds about 10-15khp to my pool, Nothing groundbreaking that’s going to impact a run tbh.

I’d really like to see a buff to our dodge seeing as pallies warriors and DK’s can hit 25% parry without a breaking a sweat

All the way up to pandaland (i think) Maul used to be an off GCD ability that hit on the next auto attack.

Interesting. I guess I don’t see the issue between next auto attack and on demand? I mean you’d have to press the ability to get it to work first anyway no?

Gotta make sure EVERYTHING is on the GCD otherwise we might not be GCD locked every second of a fight.

Can’t have you using frenzied regen you know.

I guess so you can have the TnC proc on demand and not use a GCD for damage reduction, but the “on next attack” is actually so bad for your wrist. Definitely hope it never ever comes back lol

They could

  1. Instead of turning raze into a skill shot, just have it cause maul to hit additional targets, soft cap at 8. No damage loss in single target,
  2. Ironfur no longer stacks. Armor granted adjusted to compensate. ToI reworked to be sepulcher 2 piece.
  3. New talent: Rage spent extends RotS. Move RotS to physical side, along with ToI. Move Cenarion over to magic side.
  4. Buff shield % on ursoc to 100% of damage dealt by thrash/maul/raze.
  5. Add ironfur to Matted Fur
  6. Barskin and FR both have 2 charges baseline
  7. Combine berserk talents. Move up to center of the tree
  8. Pulverize puts a buff on the user instead of the mob.
  9. Split incap and bash.
  10. Double the DR portion of Rend and Tear, and move scintillating moonlight deeper into the magic side or make it a choice node with Rend and Tear.
  11. Take FR off the GCD.

On top of just combining all the talents in the tree that are just under budget af. We need to reclaim about 4 or 5 talents on the spec tree and 2-3 on the class tree, ideally “dead” talents like sunfire and Moonkin form.

Would love this. I love Raze and not having to spam Swipe, a really boring ability for when mangle, thrash, and GG procs are on cooldown but I hate that you lose Maul damage for picking that. I would even take a weaker cleave than the current Raze, as long as you keep Maul damage and its better to use than Swipe on AOE scenarios.

This would be nice.

Is this good enough to start stacking mastery or should I keep my focus on haste/vers?

Keep your focus on Haste/Vers lol

I put on my full Moonkin set, 5k mastery, and I had ~622k hp. My warrior has 516k.

Not enough. It’s just not enough. Don’t stack mastery. 5k mastery =25% increase. It also sucks that our niche is the only tank that can’t self sustain.

Well, if we look at our future set and the extra 15% life, that 25% turns into 43% increased health (based off of current numbers).

May be worth it next tier. But definitely not this tier still

It can never be worth as much as vers at its current value. More HP isn’t as useful as more damage reduction unless they buff it many times over.
