I’ve done all the LFR as they’ve become available, 3 8/8 normal runs, 1 4/8 heroic, 1 8/8 heroic.
And I’ve won a single item. One. And because of how the loot system works I’m exactly 0% closer to winning any future items because next week I’ll just have to RNG /roll again.
Major Classic ERA 2004 vibes… but not in a good way.
LFR drops underwhelming loot anyway (as far as ilvl/upgrade track goes). The chances of outrolling everyone who might want any given item is so small anyway.
Think of LFR as a way to tour the raid, see the sights, get a feel for how the questline for that zone ends.
For gear you are much, much, much better off doing Tier 7+ Delves and Heroic/Mythic 0 Dungeons.
NO… you just kind of ‘throw’ LFR under a bus, like it’s not valid. They are all valid. You just use this to distract from the real issue… I hate as many who don’t ‘exploit’ the group loot… If you are running a raid… it matters to many playing the game as it is meant to be played.
It isn’t valid. It’s Baby’s First Raid, and the barely-on-par-with-world-quests level of gear it drops reflects that. Trying to gear up in LFR is both a fool’s errand and a waste of time.
LFR is one of those things were the reward to effort ratio is all out of whack. But what effort is there I hear you say? SMH. Everybody knows LFR is harder than normal by virtue of the type of crowd it attracts.
So do what everyone else does. Tag the boss and auto-attack while you alt-tab to watch YouTube or Netflix or whatever. I see 610ilvl peeps doing sub-healer DPS. Those guys are definitely afk.
Personal loot was better in LFR, period. The forums are a zero sum game where people assume advocating for personal loot in LFR could have a .001% chance to convince Blizzard to go backwards on master loot, and the scars from the fight to get that back are still too raw.
Welcome to the world of pugging.
This has been how pugging has worked since forever. Don’t like it? Join a raiding guild with rules on how loot is distributed. Otherwise… you deal with what you have been given and you were unlucky. That happens.
