Group loot back in DF

I can only imagine. When that day comes.
wiggles toes

Anybody that puts themselves above the team should not be in the team. If a piece of loot increases player Xs out put by say 100 and player Ys by 50 then it should go to player X every single time in a guild raid team. Loot belongs to the raid team not an individual.

Pug groups are totally different ball game.

I wonder how many of the people upset about this change are the same people who raged when someone wanted to keep their personal loot item for transmog.

how many ā€œthat’s so selfishā€ threads did we see because you couldn’t control how someone else handles their loot?

and now, here we are.

ps. no one will be able to ninja your loot.

I see they are giving people the option to use group loot but im sure there will be guild groups that will require everyone in the raid to use group loot and pass on everything or 1. lose your spot, or 2. be kicked from the guild. they will find a way to make it master loot system

I’m sure there will be. you are free to find a guild that doesn’t require it though.

why would you want to stay in a guild of people with whom you disagree about something as fundamental about how to handle loot?

i wasnt saying that i would be in a guild group that does this. im just conversating and putting it out there so people arent shallow minded about how it can become a master loot system

It will be fun in the forums when people never get anything because that one lucky guy gets it.

For guilds that cant do multiple runs with +3 alts and funnel gear to a couple of toons, group loot is a lot more efficient when it comes to distributing gear than personal loot.

Personal loot doesnt care if that trinket is crap for your spec but bis for the other classes or the item with 4 more ilv is not an upgrade because it has your worst stats.

If you dont trust the people in a guild to run ā€œmaster lootā€ dont play with them.

I also think Blizzard is not stupid and will keep forced personal group for pugs.

side note…will they bring back the NEED and GREED achievements?

So, personal loot for the past few expansions then?

that would be nice

Wait and see… it will be a lot worse than the guys who kept screaming for master loot.

I think that’s a strange assumption.

Most of the people who I know that want ML back (myself included) played the game when ML was a thing. It’s not going to be some completely brand new system, it’s (mostly) just a return to the old.

if it is manipulated a certain way then it can be used as a master loot system. they just dont want to title it that because then people will know exactly what can happen and cry about it

I don’t think anyone is fooled by it being labeled group loot.

It’s the opposite. If you aren’t raiding why should you be able to say what we do? Just use personal loot in your mythic plus or world quests.

ā€œPass the loot or you’re out of the guildā€

Yeah… that won’t happen…

ā€œThank you for saving me the trouble of typing /gquit.ā€ Get a better guild

If you’re hitting need when everyone has agreed to pass, that makes YOU the ninja.

Wouldn’t be an issue if they stuck with personal loot, but the top 1% cried long and hard and got their way so we’ll be seeing these old problems rearing their heads once again.

(FWIW I have never ninja’d loot, I’ve been on the receiving end of ā€œYou need to pass <Guild leader’s girlfriend> wants thatā€ before, it killed 3 of my guilds back in wrath and convinced me guilds aren’t worth the politics and drama)
