When 10.2 launched, there was a visible customization option for the Grotto Netherwing Drake for black scales with no clear method of getting it. Now, in the promo video for the Outland cup, the customization option is shown again but it is still not in the game as a reward from anything.
Is this intentional?
They’re either intentionally withholding or just don’t pay attention anymore and forgot to add them. They just randomly choose some rewards for each event and these may randomly pop up as a nonsensical event like Pandaria racing or something.
Release the scales! This is the color I used for my Netherwing Drake back in TBC and I’d like to have them since you keep showing them in various places…really annoying to have it dangled in front of you just out of reach.

Yeah, the black and green ones. It’s weird they showed in the rostrum at one point as rep rewards, but you couldn’t find them at the quartermasters.
I saw the colors in the video as well and was hoping they would be part of the rewards from the races this time around, since they’re in Outland.
Debating on either using the Frostbrood Proto-Drake or Deathlord Dragon for my DK.
Definitely the protodrake. That DK class hall mount has a criminally low-pixel count for a mount that came out in 2017.
Would have loved to see the colors split so that you could pick the skin and glow colors separatly.
Also we need a neon-pink one!
