I can post here all I want. I’m allowed to discuss my opinion about Grobbulus in a grobbulus thread, even if I take a position counter to the OP, just as I believe you have done in my thread.
For the people who do come here who are undecided on a server, then I highly encourage people to give RPing a try and roll on Grob. But if you don’t want to RP that’s ok, there other other servers. Whitemane is also in PST, and is a PVP server. Additionally, as Grob is a PST server, you are better served anyway by a server in the correct timezone and geographically closer in point of presence to your service provider if you are in EST.
Ugh, now he’s suggesting people in EST better roll elsewhere.
Seriously, why are you attempting to sabotage the realm pop? Do you enjoy low pop servers? Are you trying to undermine the RPPvP realm in order to prove Ion and the boys right about RPPvP?
I want to roll Grob, and PvP, and RP, but you are turning me off from being on that realm.
What faction are you playing?
No, I’m suggesting that people who do not want to RP are better served on an EST PVP only realm.
Also, it’s better to have a small but dedicated RP community than a large community that doesn’t RP. That is what having a dedicated server is for.
I hope you know you’re making the RP community look really really bad.

I really have no desire to RP but a group of longtime IRL friends are playing on grobb and we are in it for the pvp RP events and such , not everyone has to care about RPing but i will be enjoying that aspect of it. I just want a great social experience from the realm !

Asking people to pick a server according whether they will RP or not is nothing to be ashamed about. That is what the server tags are for. People who want an RP only realm deserve to have one just as much as the people who want a PVP realm. RPers spend tons of time and energy into creating backstories and making relationships, which are rewarded by the emergence of a vibrant community. All of that work is nullified and destroyed in an instant when people come into the server not to RP.
RP is RP. If you are RPing you are in character according to the Warcraft lore. If you can do that, then you can play on an RP realm. Otherwise, don’t ruin it for the people who want a realm for that.
Asking the community? By telling them “don’t play here”

Yes, people who aren’t going to RP shouldn’t be on an RP realm. There are other realms. It’s not a big deal.
Let me put it this way, there is no reason to have an RP realm if an RP realm is for RP and non RP. Why? Because you can already RP on a non-RP realm. You can already form a guild and say whatever you want on a normal realm.
Th point of the RP realm is that it is EXCLUSIVELY for RP so that people who want the full RP experience of an in character world can have that.
This has never been the case, and never will be the case.

Of course it was, when they announced the original RPPVP servers, they specifically said that people who didn’t want to RP should choose to other servers they mentioned by name that were just PVP. In the rules for the servers, they call out acting OOC in the IC channels. There are blue posts about requiring people to report OOC conduct because they could not actively police the realms. It is literally in the name Role Playing Player Versus Player Server.
It is also obvious why all of these rules are there - as there is no reason to even have the RP type if everyone isn’t going to RP. Small groups can already RP on non-RP servers.
So it makes neither logical sense nor is it consistent with the reality of what the server type has and should be.

Unless you’re one of those people who doesn’t pvp. In which case I will have to ask that you roll on a different server. Mainly the RP one.
Nothing worse than level 10 roleplayers who never step outside faction cities and yet pretend that they’re big shots just because the participated in a few watered down storylines written by their friends and completely unfitting for a server such as Grobbulus.

I have a great idea.
Let’s find ways to make RP approachable and irresistibly fun, so even those with no intention of RP’ing on Grob will end up participating. Make life on the server vibrant and engaging for all to take part.
No need to tell people what to do or not do. Lets’ be honest, when does that ever work out via the forums or in game?
I look forward to this amazing game and playing on the best server there is. I’ll see you all in there in 2 weeks!

I will be on Grobb, but won’t re-sub till a couple days before launch; I foresee a lot of people doing the same. Numbers right now are probably not very accurate…although that’s a still semi-educated guess.
Name creation is something I enjoy, and my identity is something I don’t mind creating.

People in EST absolutely should roll elsewhere, and they are. Grobb is going to be a bad server for EST players.
As an est player who has played on pst servers, there’s literally almost no difference in lag. I’m 50ms on est and pst.
