I am 100% for that idea. Best of both worlds.
Warlock should be able to pick which special ability their pet gets. Both grimoire abilities should just be deleted from the game. They are just stupid maintenance buffs.
I think the best, most balanced, and coolest-looking approach (Master Summoner) would be to change both Grimoires so they permanently summon either a Fel Ravager (Spell Lock) or an Imp Lord (Dispel). In that case, Axe Toss should no longer interrupt and instead function as a stun only.
The second pet should behave like the Beast Mastery Hunterâs second pet from Animal Companion (https://www.wowhead.com/spell=267116/animal-companion).
They could, at least, move this grimoire to the class tree, and make the Spell Lock from the Ravager share a cooldown with the one from the Felstalker.
The whiplash is somehow even worse than the change for me.
We were told that interrupts will be less meaningful in Midnight, which was partially used to justify removing them from healers.
They added an additional interrupt to Demo knowing full well how powerful they were. Now theyâre gone in one patch? The devs need to make up their minds.
Having shorter interrupts is fun for PvE since itâs kind of like having a parry move in ARPGs. In PvP, itâs super annoying to be shut down as a caster, so theyâd have to balance both game modes. Maybe itâs just me, but for solo content (and sometimes dungeons), âeat every other curse/fear/pyroblast/etc. because youâre on cooldownâ isnât exactly a great time.
Oh, is this change coming from Blizz trying to address PVP complaints?
According to them itâs because it was too useful overall:
Itâs confusing as to why they spent time pre-12.0 explaining that interrupts werenât going to be as relevant and then do this flip-flop on Demo.
I donât even necessarily disagree that itâs too powerful - having two interrupts is strong (but fun) and a bit of an anomaly compared to other classes - just⌠whereâs the long term vision for the combat?!
Because its stuns the target and they sometimes cast other abilities and not come to the group.
To be blunt, âthey wonât be as importantâ was pure spin to make excuses for taking them off Healers for âpruningâ (that is, gutting) reasons.
I say do the opposite. Take stun off of Axe Toss and keep it only as interrupt.
Time to invite a DK to the group so they can grip? IDK but when leveling my Unholy DK (85 right now). Most pugs donât ever bothers to interrupt a cast anyway. so I ended up using my grip on CD.
Rather than change it to something completely niche in usefulness Iâd like to see them just increase the cool down. 40 second interrupt from the ravager and axe toss on 30 second isnât busted and keeps the talents utility.
Can we please not do this or change the fel guard stun. Demo is the only dps class that doesnât have a silence. The axe toss is not a silence. Have a talent or an option for us to choose if we want our fel guard to stun or our fel guard to silence.
Please Blizzard can we do something else and not just make this change. I was looking forward to M+âs this season cause I finally had an actual silence for caster mobs and not a stupid stun. Yes the stun will interrupt a class but that mob has to be immune to stuns already which doesnât work for regular mobs.
So if a tank is pulling mobs and thereâs a caster stuck in the back my stun isnât gonna to stop that cast and have the mob run to the tank itâs just going to stand there.
Also for pvp are we getting the silence pvp talent back then?
As much as Iâd like to see many of the ideas put forth in this thread made reality⌠I think the most simple change that I can see them making is to have axe toss also cause spell school lock out in PvE? That would make it so after the stun mobs will still have 3 seconds to run to the tank?
Unless it already does that and Iâm just talking out my rear end?
âas a non Demo playerâ âŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ tf
The point of kicking a ranged mob is to make it run into the pack not stand there dumb then start casting a few seconds later.
Itâs definitely something Iâll miss as Iâve just gotten used to having another interrupt.
Have they said if theyâre also removing the initial on cast interrupt of Fel Ravager, or is it just the spell effect itâs button turns into after casting?
This is a terrible change and I hope they listen to our grievances and reconsider.
Agreed, but I donât think Blizzard likes us, and gets mad whenever we make too much noise about basic simple changes.
They never understand nor listen to us. They act like weâre speaking in Curse of Tongues or something
Tbh the main issue they should fix is that spell lock is a pet ability⌠It should just work with every pet.
