Griefers on top of Gadgetzan

The Gadgetzan snipers strike again!

This is the authentic vanilla experience.

My first time in Tanaris in vanilla involved half a dozen or more members of the opposite factions on various rooftops killing everyone.

I killed scrubs from rooftops in Booty Bay in 2004-2006, and I can do it again in 2019-2020.

Kill me back (IF U CAN LOL).

Working as intended.

Considering the name of your guild, I would assume you are just upset you didn’t think of doing this first.

This is the part when you grab THREE Alliance and gank them back instead of crying about it on the forums.

You can always tell who rolls PvP servers because of the bandwagon…

…and then there are those who genuinely enjoy PvP servers.

Your guild name suggests one, but your rant suggests the other.

I think its ridiculous how you are all coming at this rando guild that invited me the 2nd day of release that I was in for less than 8 hours before leaving. I am an active PVPer, I enjoy PVP, its the main part of the game that I play for. I have gotten 2.2 arena rating in retail and I intend on climbing the honor system in classic. Yes I PVP in classic, I get ganked and I gank back, I enjoy that. However, like I said it is impossible for me to reach them before getting killed. I called for alliance players (level 60) and they died before even getting close to jumping up the arena. The guards are ineffective and they bug out. This is clearly a bug or exploit or however you want to word it. Idk what is wrong with you dipsh-ts who think one sided player killing is ā€œPVPā€. Like really it boggles my mind…

Evading the guards(sitting on top of buildings) is actually against the rules, or at least it was during Vanilla. They implemented that because of people doing that in Gadgetzan, Darkshire, and Grom’Gol specifically.

Edit: I should note I think that guards ruin PVP and I made more than one post in the OG General Discussion forum asking for them to remove the guards.

ā€œIs this a bannable offense?ā€

This is the most carebear qq question i’ve ever heard… LOOOL

The guards were given a knockback to get them off the roof top of the inn, but their ranged weapons can’t reach the center of the arena. While not perfect, that knockback does create a blindspot for them. They actually cannot attack people who are closer to the walls of the arena. You just get what you need real fast and then get into a position where they can’t do anything.

By the way, if blizzard wanted to stop this back then all they had to do was move one of the two iron cages next to the arena that people use to wall climb it.

This is happening now on whitemane. I warned in local and I got yelled at by little kids. If you weren’t in Vanilla, then you don’t know it’s a suspension. I remember those days when people were suspended for griefing other players breaking game mechanics. Then the patch updated fixed it where the guards knock you back.

I’ve played this game since 2005. I’ve been killed by people sitting on the roof of the arena and the inn in Gadget and I’ve also killed other people while sitting up there. Same with Booty Bay and, to a lesser extent, Everlook. It’s not a suspension, it’s not griefing, it’s not breaking game mechanics, and the only ā€œpatchā€ that fixed is was the one when Cataclysm dropped and all of Azeroth got a facelift. That’s when they changed it so guards would spawn right behind you out of nowhere and kill you.

PvP solution to PvP problems.

No, it’s not bannable. Just kill them.

Bannable? No

Will Blizzard often remove them from that location? I saw that happen a ton in Darkshire back in Vanilla.

Yes and no…
Yes, it was griefing…and griefing is somewhere in the Blizzard TOS or something but don’t quote me on that I just remember coming across it somewhere. Came up in a thread about players camping quest npcs so they couldn’t be turned in, in an attempt to lure in PvP.

No, it’s more than likely not bannable unless it escalates to the aforementioned Blizzard TOS (the term being something akin to ā€œinterfering beyond some level with another person’s gameā€ which is basically griefing) ANYWAYS, at some point the guards did receive ranged attacks and knockbacks. I know this is true of the Booty Bay guards on modern WoW, I dunno if its true at the moment for the Classic WoW version.

It likely is not bannable at all. However if they are glitching to get to a spot where they aren’t supposed to, and avoiding guards they aren’t meant to be able to, it may be something Blizzard would be willing to look into. Make a ticket and see what they say.

Apparently you haven’t played the game since 2005 because I had guildmates suspended for returning the favor. You are cheating the game mechanics. If you can’t see that, then there is something wrong with you. Ask yourself this question. Why did it stop BEFORE CATA??? Because it was a suspension if you were caught doing it. It’s called cheating and griefing other players.

The solution ended up being Warmode.

So…get ready for that in the next phase because people can’t stop being sociopaths.

Who says I stopped before Cata…? :joy: If your guildmates got suspended then it was because they were doing more than just sitting on the roof. There are plenty of comments here from people stating the same thing I am and you’re the only one saying it’s bannable. What does that tell you?
