Quest "Greymane's Gambit" is bugged: guns misfire, making it virtually impossible to complete

The guns aboard the Skyfire act as if there is something right in front of them, and only fire successfully from a very small angle off to the side, into which the flying enemies stop moving after the first wave. You must kill 30, but it’s virtually impossible because they don’t fly into the range that isn’t bugged.
