Greed - Why people unsub

Wasn’t the badge system always for catch up gear (i.e., the tier that just finished?)

I think maybe its not so much that Blizzard’s philosophy changed, its just we’re on the first tier of this expansion.

If anything gearing feels easier to me now that it once did because of daily quest emissaries, WF/TF, mythic plus chest, all new to recent expansions.

Activision is a for-profit company, a shocking revelation that probably didn’t require a page-long rant. It’s really hard to apply a “greedy” label to such a company in the context of the current state of affairs with a video game expansion.

You understand that all companies are for-profit, right? The point is that when a company starts intentionally making changes or removing features with the sole purpose of slowing their players down in order to grind our monthly sub fees, it means people will unsub which means blizz will start losing money.

It happens gradually but if it goes on for long enough, eventually investors take note and divest from the company as well and it goes into a downward spiral from there.

Blizz is not entitled to my money. As a paying customer, especially when it’s a decent proportion of players who agree on the same issue, I am more than able to express my opinion.

Yes, calling them greedy is appropriate because we are not talking about a change that never existed or something untested but rather something they used to offer and intentionally took out for no other reason than to slow people down.

Yes, it did require a page long rant otherwise instead of commenting what you did, you, and a whole bunch of other people, would’ve misunderstood my point and we would be talking about something else entirely rn.

The fact is, no matter what anyone writes about, just so long as it is a criticism about anything, there will always be player’s like yourself who idiotically comment that we should basically “get over it”. If I wasn’t paying for this game, I would’ve.

FYI, blizz sends out emails to players who stopped playing asking them why they unsubbed. FYI, when people unsub blizz asks us why we are unsubbing during that process. You know why? Because that for-profit company loses money when people unsub. Why do people unsub? Because blizz is more interested in quick fixes for short term profits rather than long-term fixes which deliver more quality to the game.

^ That’s why I call them greedy and yes, it is making them lose subs.

The problem as I see it seems to be more on how to balance gear from vendors without upsetting the hardcore raiders i.e. How do you release meaningful gear upgrades from vendors that doesnt directly compete with mythic+/raid gear?

Why are these people so deaf to reality of LFR?

It was not right to have players stop people from seeing raids because of:

  • Gearscore
  • Voice chat programs
  • Addons not installed
  • Achievements not earned

All that just to join a raid? Please stop.

No wonder only %10 or less of people seen raids. Now you want that power back over people and over content you did not even create?

WoW.

You can easily get to 330 with out even touching foot in a dungeon or raid, and you can get to 350 easily enough from visiting the ah. Which at 350 you can do normal raids.

This is why I’ve come to the conclusion Ion Haz. is going to drive more and more people away from the game. He will do everything EXCEPT come out and say “Yes, the design we have is wrong, it promotes EXTREME RNG. Basically gambling with time.”

It’s a real kick in the groin every time I invest 2-3 hours and get absolutely nothing.

I’d say allow casual players like myself earn tokens for running dungeons, BG’s, WQ’s, etc. These add up to either an all in one vendor, or spread out over multiple vendors that we can purchase our gear from. They can gate this if they want, but someones effort should be rewarded if they’re running extra dungeons or other events. I never understood that, but w/e.

Mythic+ has 0 meaning or relevance to me. Raiding is a cluster even with a clan and I don’t want to be responsible for someone else’s failure and trying to keep a group together. I quite BG’s when the bots were 7/8 of the players… haven’t touched them since.

There’s so much they could do to involve players, but they want it to 110% the blizzard way, which it’s obvious to tell others don’t appreciate that as well.

I’m working on leveling up my DK that I haven’t touched since the beginning of Legion. Really enjoying it. Just wish I had more to look forward to at 120 that wasn’t meaningless progression or a mega grind.
