Great Worm From Beyond

I never once said that nor acted like it. Wanting to be completely lazy while traveling has zero to do with being good or bad at the game. I fail to even understand how you made that connection at all.

Please show me where I somehow managed to even remotely attempt to bash your opinion. Because I never did anything of the sort.

Many around here asked for it. Including me.

I’m not even sure how that’s possible.

Then you need to pay closer attention and try to zoom farther out with your camera. Those things are pretty spread out and easy to see and avoid if you find a good setup that suits you well for seeing them quickly. I’d also suggest turning up your max distance to see if that helps.

Very possible since it happened. And one of the times someone called out the Alpaca across the zone and I had a 3 minute 300% speed debuff -_-

It does seem pointless to have a giant, flying worm spit on you to slow you down so imperceptably that you don’t notice it.

I think the answer might be in the name. The next expac is Shadowlands where we all die to get there, perhaps. Not sure but the name, Great Worm from Beyond could be the harbinger of Shadowlands.

Idk, just flying by the seat of my pants here but that name, it reminds me of something and could be story line linked.

  • forgot a word. weird that’s been happening a lot lately. others do it, too. hm.

the player base did back in cata cause the world felt empty and nobody engaged in wpvp just ported and flew everywhere. So now we have things like the worms and I love it

Well, I got the feeling you were bashing my opinion when you said:

Saying things that way makes it seem a bit condescending and dismissive.

That’s a pretty spectacular rare occurrence right there. You got hit with Murphy’s Law and the unlucky stick. Because I can’t even fathom the odds for that happening. :flushed:

I’ve had one aggro on me even when I’m just skimming across the ground.
Hits be a coupla times and moves on. Never have had them attack me or kill me.

I probably should stop annoying them.

Maybe there’s a bug? I’ve never had one do that before, certainly not saying it didn’t happen to you, so possibly there’s a bug on one or in a certain area?

The first comment you quoted was me saying that there are some people who enjoy it. And I gave examples of ones I enjoyed. There’s nothing to read into that. At all. It was just a simple different perspective comment.

The second quote was actually asking a question. Because I know people out there who think they should be able to run through things that want to rip them to shreds.

You read way too much into simple statements and questions. I’m always blunt, but I wasn’t being condescending nor dismissive.

Different people like different things. I, for one, welcome dangers in the skies. Because I like interacting with my environment. I like when things want me to fail or murder me. To me, it makes the game more engaging and fun.

can you git mount Equipment ? so the worm will not aggro you?

I did. It was a couple years ago but I asked for Aerial Dogfights and we got them. Not just in WoD I think, maybe Pandaria, not sure but there was a quest where you fly a hippogryph and spear other riders, then they did it again in Nazmir with the invasions.

I haven’t asked for them recently though. I don’t mind it, it’s like interactive flying but goofier which is why I think that worm may be related somehow to the next expac.

it makes the world more dangerous , you have to actually watch out for them , not just mindnumbingly fly from A to B .

The worm doesnt go far enough , the only time I have been hit is when i flew high to go afk , when i returned I had quite a few stacks .

You can avoid the worm easily by flying low , they wont get you and nothing on the ground will knock you off your mount

Honestly i like those worms they add a threat to warmode on both sides and its sort of a flying deterant that also enables DAY 1 PATHFINDER if the devs ever copied another MMO properly (looking at you FF14s day 1 flying after you unlock per zone).

Honestly the real crime of this patch outside the rushed, buggy, cheap, poorly tested mess that is 8.3 is the fact, why aren’t therea any Flight Master whistle upgrades? least Argus a zone without flying had the upgrade but still its annoying that i cant just flight whistle while i go do something i need too outside the game and co-opt the time better, especially after the third or fourth character…

What threat? Really, what threat do the pose?

Maybe I am doing something wrong but I was tapped with their flying speed debuff, maybe, three times.

What am I missing that is so grou…air breaking that it would require someone too get honked off about?

You can. If you are getting tagged by the worms you are either AFK or really unobservant.

My only complaint with the worms is that you could replace them with giant rocks that filled their aura radius and nothing would really change; people would continue to fly around them without consequence.

That’s not engaging, it just makes the path less direct. Give me the BC ogri’la or skyguard air dangers.

Problem is, they are still going to gate flying for half the expansion, so why even bother with something like this if they aren’t going to incorporate it into the next expansion and add flying in earlier. If they were going to carry something like this going forward and unlock flying sooner I would be fine with it.

I actually like the worms, even though they’re annoying as crap. It’s a little more engaging for me because it keeps me focused on where I’m going instead of num locking my way to destination.

A certain someone hated flying in the game but couldn’t take it out older zones so we have another compromise.

I’m honestly surprised that we can still fly in the last patch of an expansion.

Look at it from a tactical point of view. If you were invading somewhere, wouldn’t you want to hinder the enemies ability to use air support If possible?

Because making the sky just as interactive as the ground has absolutely nothing to do with Pathfinder.
