Great Vault Options very Vague, chose wrong item

Tbh, when i started simming 3-4 pieces on Raidbots last Tuesday i pretty much realized this would be the next GD whine topic.

You guys got reforging axed from the game because it was too “complicated” after all.

I’m also like the “Well others have messed up too, so i must be right”
Lots of people dont read, easiest answer.

Please stop. People like you are the reasons vendors were removed in the first place.

“Once per week you may select a single reward”.

What wording do you think is appropriate to convince people like you that you will get to select a single item, and not more than one item?

They aren’t.

They are, however, expected to read the disclaimer on the vault that explicitly says “one item only.”

It’s called pacing. Because being done with the patch after three weeks would be “pretty bad design.” Something which littered every facet of BFA, including loot dispersal.

Note how small it is, SHOULD BE BIGGER

Edit: Also, we used to have more than one with previous expac and this is unanounced really.

Either way one group is gonna consider it bad. :man_shrugging:

Personally I’d rather they lean towards less restrictions. If people want to burn through it all, let them.

Seems pretty clear to me, but some people really have difficulty reading, no joke.

Guess it sucks for them

<10 chars ftw>

I too was disappointed to learn this, OP. But, I think the reason they didn’t give loot for doing each of the 3 tiers of content was because then people would feel “obligated” to do each of the 3 tiers of content, whether they enjoy it or not. I can do LFR to get my LFR-tier rewards from the Great Vault each week now instead of having to do Mythic+ or rated PVP (I hate rated PVP and don’t really do Mythic+).

Also, blizz said they wanted there to be “less” loot this expansion than in BFA, so it makes sense from that philosophy also.

I understand your disappointment, but I do think it’s for the best.

People were going to feel that way anyway. Only doing one leaves you more likely to get repeats or non upgrade choices.

It says very clearly: “You may only select ONE reward from the Great Vault.”

I think that makes it very clear that means one item total.

Does it say you can choose one item from each content type? No.
Therefore, you only get ONE item. Period. (…barring the keystone and certain quest items that only come from the vault.)

I hate to be that guy but…if you don’t read what you are clicking on whose fault is that?

So, barring the wording of the vault and such, I still say that the loot gain is a bit way too skimpy. I understand that they are trying to do ‘less’ loot gains this expac, but ‘less’ shouldn’t mean 1 piece per week.

For example, I think there was a thing where Castle Nathria was awarding ‘more loot than was intended’ raid wide (5 pieces for a 20 man group). I think 5 pieces is quite acceptable. I feel that, doing content the first time every day (barring raids that lock out weekly/mythics/etc.), should gaurantee you at least ONE piece of gear. No matter if it is something you have, a non-upgrade or not. Getting nothing from a run at all just feels pretty bad. Doing stuff in the game should reward you for the time spent in there. Am I the only person here who sees its a bit lopsided?

I’m genuinely not trying to cause a stir. But I think Blizzard is pressing the ‘less loot’ thing a little too much. I have a friend I brought to the game just recently (hes fairly new, has his first 60 and such). He’s constantly wondering where to get loot from 140 Ilevel, and I’m not quite sure what to tell him other than to ‘run dungeons, do PVP’. And running dungeons… he hasn’t been getting very much. I ran with him on my mythic geared character (I geared through PVP at the start because I don’t mind that) just so I could help him get some pieces to get him to a point that could potentially get him some more. If he didn’t have me to help him here and there, I think he would have quit by now. Loot pacing is one thing, but come on. Its way too much, especially for lower ilevel people. Imagine trying to catch up with an alt for a raid group. More than likely they’d have to wait a week or more to have that alt remotely ready to raid.

100%. I just did the same, thinking it was one choice for raid and one choice for mythics.

Single reward among your raid options? Single reward among your mythic options and single reward among your PvP options? Or single reward across all progressions? There you go, confusion. They should design it in a way that leads people to make the assumption that it’s only one choice total. The visual way of leading people to make choices, is a 100 times more important and effective than words.

Yes, if you add qualifiers to the sentence that aren’t there, I can see how it could become confusing. Since they didn’t add qualifiers to the sentence, that’s not really an issue!

Since it says “Once per week you may select a single reward”, the logical conclusion for anyone with a brain is that, once per week, you may select a single reward. Not a single reward per section, not a single reward per column… a single reward. Period.
