when in doubt pick the item you absolutely want (staff in this case) first then if you get another choice pick something else.
totally your fault.
when in doubt pick the item you absolutely want (staff in this case) first then if you get another choice pick something else.
totally your fault.
So it seems pretty clear to me. Also this sentence
" Keeping in mind that you will be able to choose only one item and that completing objectives increases the number items from which you get to choose,"
Occurs multiple times throughout the wowhead great vault overview and guide page. I realize that’s a secondary source but it’s also the most likely source used to answer your question. It’s nobody’s fault but your own that you made an assumption about how the system worked and were wrong.
wait, really? so you think 213=>213 is a bigger upgrade than 187=>200?
i think i found the issue.
…No. You’re misunderstanding what I said.
Read the rest of what I said. "But thats another batch of worms. I think with this system as it is now, we should use something similar to the MoP/WoD Timeless Isle gear where you could choose one slot of gear, and it generates the highest ilevel reward you unlocked."
The ‘technically yes’ was in regards to throwing out a lower item level reward generally. But what I am saying is, a different system ALL TOGETHER would solve this issue, so you could CHOOSE to upgrade any slot of gear you want, for the highest level you unlocked during the week. So you could get a better trinket if you wanted that week, and next week go for something else. It would be the player’s choice.
It’s not vague at all, I don’t know how anyone can even pretend to believe this.
Since they announced the great vault they’ve always pitched vault as 1 item per week, but more choices to reduce RNG. But fine, I get that people do not always follow the news on this kind of stuff. Then you get a quest to fill the vault, and then the top of the vault quite literally states you get to pick a single item once per week and when you do select the item it warns you that you’re selecting your item for the week. Also (albeit I don’t expect everyone to notice this) when you cycle through your item choice for the week it won’t let you select more than one item. You can cycle through raids or dungeons loot options and it won’t let you pick multiple items.
There’s nothing to be confused about here. There’s nothing to misunderstand. It’s all laid out in front of you. Blizzard has made it as crystal clear as they realistically ever could have. If you got confused that is your own fault.
Your fault. I didn’t have this problem coming into to retail for the first time this expansion. Pay better attention.
Have some accountability for your own actions…
Big deal…play the vault next week. Live and learn.
Ia not “another batch of worms”, is the whole reason the vault exist. Ilv is not everything and having more options is good, so in the long run you get more actual upgrades from it.
People misunderstanding how the vault work is why Blizzard put that big warning after you pick one item, so no reasonable person would think you get more than one.
No pity, there is a pop up confirmation box that confirms what you’re getting.
Just think, this level of dumb is good enough to get a 213 staff from PVP.
Gear really is too easy in PVP and needs to be nerfed.
Nah, it’s been a dead gearing path for years. Let them have their fun.
No. All must suffer equally.
Deleting your char over one item seems a bit much. Maybe wow isn’t what you need to be focusing on, sounds like you have other issues that need to be addressed
LOL so I open mine finally and I have 2 of the 3 options as waist. The same slot I was going to craft a legendary for today. ><.
So 66% belts for me.
So wait, do I understand this correctly? I could drop 10 Raid bosses, clear 10 keys, and get 6250 honor in the same week and get ONE piece of gear the following week?
Sorry for the ruthless jerks attacking you. I had no idea so many players are perfect! I did the same thing as well. Don’t feel bad OP half the people attacking you have sad lives at home
I agree with the OP. It is somewhat vague and I was also surprised that I only get 1 item after putting in effort to raid, do mythics, and pvp. Back in BFA we had a PvP chest AND a PvE chest. I did not make the same mistake as the OP but was surprised none the less. At least now i know I can just focus on PvP(like I want to) but wow at it to all be lumped together.
File a ticket. Worse they can do is say no.
Originally, I was thinking the same thing. One from each. But, after some realization, yea, that’s not how it works.
But that said, it’s not a false choice.
I had the 3 Boss Raid button lit (running first wing of LFR), and the first M+ button lit.
The M+ button was some 200 iLvl thin, while the LFR was a 187 head.
But the 187 head was a much bigger upgrade, so I took that.
The bright side of this system is that is flattens out the RNG. Instead of 1 item to pick from each week, you get up to 9 items to pick from, letting you chose what’s best for you at the time rather than what the RNG deems fit to dump on you.
I guess the ‘Great Vault’ aint that great after all.
Stupid design.
This is basically my point. Why put in the effort for other things (raids, PVE or PVP, whichever the person prefers) when you will get lower ilevel gear for something like Raid Finder (which you only get 187 gear) when you can easily do Mythic + to get much better items if you work up the + ladder. Or like I said above, preference. I did the other stuff because I thought, “Oh cool, I can get more gear if I do Raid Finder and PVP stuff!” Wrong. Just doesn’t feel right as a system.
The game right now just feels overly gear-starved. I dont even get many upgrades for dailies or WQ’s. Most of the stuff I have is 184, and the mission tables, WQ’s, dailies are all still at 158 or 171. PVP-upgrade gear should not be the primary way to gear up. Dungeons should, and so should the other systems (WQ/Dailies).
It should feel rewarding and exciting to get a few pieces in a week, maybe not BiS all the time, but at least have some progression further than ONE scrap of gear a week. I understand it should take some time, but man, it just… feels bad. And I’m usually a person who looks past a lot of Blizz’s choices.
