Graphics getting lazy?

Clipping issues, parts don’t connect on armor, they just float. Emotes being used over and over during actions that doesn’t make sense.

Is it me or the designers just don’t care?

Maybe it’s different designers whose work is not as tight of that of those who came before them?

Trying to think back when they did care. Nope, nothing.

As an animator myself, I honestly I think the quality of some of the animation work in this game is… questionable.

Lazy?
I think they care… but it might be a time issue? resource issue?

I’m running out of excuses since fans have made better constructed in game clips etc than the actual team that does it at times lol

I remember when a patch during BC caused orcs shoulders to become minuscule. Lasted about 6 months if I recall.

This game is hopeless. It’s 2024 and armor should not be clipping into anything.

The old guard is gone. Most of the people working on WoW now are “just doing their job”. There isn’t any passion. (inb4 “vanilla sucked, WoW is better than ever.” comment)

There was a mention in an interview that they’re leveraging AI to try and retrofit armor pieces onto the various models. AI can do it very quickly, whereas doing it properly (by hand) takes a while.

What Blizzard is likely lacking is the quality assurance steps prior to new mogs going live.

It may as well have been an eternity.

Why must you resurrect those dark days?

I’m happy with the game performance and imagery. (graphics set of 2) But I’m soo glad I upgraded my 8GB Ram to 32GB

Yeah. Lets pretend that the old guard did things right in game.

I get you want to put them on a pedestal. But come on now.

Ditto. You know the game is really good now when the most pressing thing people have to complain about is minor clipping issues.

My point was not that the old guard was perfect, nowhere in my post did I say that, my point was the old guard was passionate.

Based on what?

Ignoring huge issues?

People confuse “passion” with “devs making decisions I personally like”

I guess I should rephrase… the game is good to a point. But once I get into Shadowlands and Dragonflight… I’m not a happy camper… Professions windows are confusing and sometimes I feel as if I’ve lost direction once I reach lev 30… This is prob due to world scaling as it doesn’t continue onward in the same area that I’m in. I’d admit I like level scaling But I think it should be gotten rid of at this point.

If that’s your conclusion then you completely missed the point and I have no idea what to say.

Because “passion” cant be quantified. You want to say the old guard had passion, when they made the same exact mistakes the new guard did.

But because of nostalgia, rose colored glasses, and it being the first MMO for many…they ignore it.

Because what were they passionate about? A well written game? Good class design and dev feedback?

They use AI to fit the armor to all the player models. They make the gear and the AI does its best to fit it all the different races in game, some gear just looks bad on certain races because the AI sucks sometimes.
