They should let us spend twice the tokens to bump an item up to the next track.

I farmed shoulders on my Disc Priest for a good month. Finally gave up and realized I didn’t really care to do M+ beyond the final affix anymore. Meh to that gear grind.

This system is fine. The old system ONLY favored M+ and everyone else had to M+ to get higher gear or even get BiS items. The old system also required having a rather high rating to cap out your gear in upgrades that most players had a very hard time getting and to get the highest ilvl gear you had to do a +20 and get the 421 in your vault.
Sure this current system has some flaws but it’s not that difficult to understand especially when you know each tier of the items or in most cases you know which difficulty of content the item type will drop in. Valor also had a weekly cap where flightstones do not.
I belive 9-16 keys giveschampion gear (415-424 gear) and 17-20 hero gear (428-431).

Because valor was only for mythic+ and they decided that the other methods of gearing up deserved an upgrade system as well.
This, technically he was one mythic+ level too low to reach the cap.

I understand the desire to encourage pushing dungeons and reward for that. But I think they went nutso making something so overwhelmingly complicated. They could have just offered more valor. This change is definitely diminishing my desire to continue.
Maybe if they had upped drop rates so that farming an item would be more successful (since you’re going to have to do it multiple times). Or adding a vendor. I don’t know. I’m bummed out at the whole thing. Especially the way they present it as a better, easier way to gear since there’s discounts once you’ve obtained a certain slot. Yeah, right. There’s so much to like about this expansion but this change is super dumb.

Holy macks, there are so many posts in this thread from people comparing the END of S1 (with uncapped Valor), to the beginning of ANY Season that doesn’t have uncapped Valor.
This leads to the false assertion that this guy could have upgraded this weapon in the first place. HE COULDN’T.
This is part of what started all the complaining about the Valor system is that, with capped Valor, you basically never spent it!! Nothing was “good enough.” Why spend the Valor, when you were pushing higher Keys for the Concentrated Primal Focus and might get the item to drop at a higher level ANYWAY.
Especially when you could get an item 15/13 … which NO AMOUNT OF VALOR was going to get you! End result: DON’T SPEND VALOR.
A few posts in, and I was just shaking my head at all the false logic being thrown around. By the time I was half-way in, I was convinced the entire thing was just a humble-brag and this guy HAD to have known all along that there was nothing to complain about.
Get real. If you spent Valor before week 6-7 in S1, you weren’t running high Keys in the first place.

No thank you, the new system is much more efficient. I’d rather not have Valor back just so people can make bad decisions.

Doing +10-13 and having enough currency to upgrade 3-4 pieces to 437

I read where it says Aspects Crests are from 16 and up. Which is what I assumed he was after. My apologies if I misunderstood.
Because with Valor, you might not go into that 17. Instead, you’ll go to 2s and 3s to farm the valor. They explicitly stated that getting people to run higher keys was one of the reasons for this change.
