Quit threads like this don’t really hit me as attention seeking. His thread was short and good-natured. Having a sort of “closure” (in lack of a better word) isn’t uncommon, especially if they’ve poured lots of hours.

Just a friendly good bye IMO.

I do agree some quit threads are definitely trying to make a statement when they rage at blizzard or set their thread up as some sort of ultimatum/this-is-the-last-straw sort of thing. Even then I can kind of understand. They spent time and money on something they loved and it’s frustrating to see it change in a way that may make it so you don’t enjoy or support it anymore. A thread is a fairly harmless way to let out that frustration.

The only quit threads I find dumb are the ones where player tries to degrade or belittle those who are still subbed and still play. Quitting is fine. Being angry with blizz is fine. Being angry or acting morally superior towards others for not quitting and/or being angry is over the top IMO.

but as i said, mostly i just see these as a friendly goodbye. A fine thing to do whether you’re leaving for 4 months, 4 years, or forever.
