I think you got kinda what you wanted. If you didn’t want it to turn out this way, especially with the experience of it always turns out this way, why not just not say anything about it and say “thanks, I kinda wanna keep looking” when they’re brought up.

For future reference I’d reccomend just saying something like “what other Troll guilds are out there besides STC?” It’s non-confrontational, doesn’t trash them at all, and no one would feel the need to defend them. You’re simply acknowledging they exist and asking what alternatives to them exist.

I was in Blades of Zandalar before I took a hiatus which I returned from a few months back. Was a really fun guild. They booted this guy during my hiatus, but left my shaman. Whenever I play him, I never see anyone else on and the GM hasn’t logged on in over 5 months. The other guild mentioned above doesn’t sound like my cup of tea, no offense or anything to them, I’m just more of a casual RPer for the most part. I’d definitely be interested if there are any other active troll guilds out there.
I have seen a lot of tribe guilds around, big issue is they are tribe guilds and aren’t often too successful, and given BfA, very few people want dedicated military stuff.
I imagine if someone did it, there could be a lot of success if one were to make a Shator style culture guild for trolls.
While we’re talking about tribes, if anyone wants the Vanity Guild Name ‘Skullsplitter Tribe’, I own it on a toon called ‘Kenak’. It’s not a tribal guild, this is not a guild advertisement, but if you want the name, and an appropriate rank for the STV tribe for RP FLAVOR ONLY, then shoot Vorzhal or Kenak a pm/mail
If I had the time, energy and core help to make one I would but my days of that kind of upkeep are gone. Sadly. So here we all are looking for someone else to do the hard part lol
