Nothing but melee cleaves last night, 2 jungles, 3 rmps. Lol
"Ret war doesn’t counter anything"give it a week
Last AWC tournament before 9.2.5 had one DH Balance vs Ret War series and the DH Balance got farmed into the dirt so idk.
The nerfs to kyrian legendary, 2 set bonus from trinket, frenzy regen, killed boomie. You rarely see them now.
havent qued much ret/warr this season but i remember thinking ret/warr hard countered dh/boom, cant see how that has changed rlly
Okay. I maintain that boomy is actually incredibly well balanced (no pun intended) rn. It has sustained damage, burst, cc, and some survival tools. It just SEEMS bad by comparison b/c some stuff is just insane (rmp, ret, fury, jungle).
Boomy is the level that all classes should be at imo.
But ya, kyrian leggo should’ve gotten nerfed and it did. Frenzy regen nerfs were over the top imo. Even after the nerf, I can frenzy regen off CD and it still does less hps than recouperate and that’s including the conduits. Frenzy literally heals less than crimson vial (same cd) and vial doesnt make you sit in bear form.
i think for feral and rdru they were very justified
kinda wild that necro feral was like unkillable god class last season and nobody talked about it
I agree. And the initial nerfs after S1 boomy were fine too. S1 boomy with necro stuff was immortal, which is gross. No class should ever be a non-target (basically rmp and outlaw in all scenarios now. Wild how blizz will say frenzy is OP, but leave RMP as tankier classes, but I digress)
But thats not how the nerfs came about. Boomy & Necro were immortal S1, so frenzy and necrolord got nerfed. Which was fine. Good changes imo. Then since conduits got buffed, the frezny regen conduits got nerfed. Then celestial guardian got reworked, then frenzy got nerfed again because of feral specicfically. Then again at the end of s2, frenzy got nerfed a third time because of resto druids.
It’s actually wild how little self-healing boomy has atm; I don’t think I’ve seen any other class with less healing on a details meter in 9.1 or 9.2.
It did last season, but that was mostly because burst was high enough (thanks old trinket set bonus and kyrian resto druid) that in the duration of a spell reflect/disorienting roar/warstomp, the boomy or resto shaman could die every single vanq hammer with or without wings.
Now that the meta slowed down a bit, cyclone is a lot more valuable because you can actually tank a literal global of damage to CC the wings/banner/reck/warbreaker.
Also earthen wall buffs very good.
Because necro ret was dog before double leggo
But I think the main culprit is also Sanctified Wrath, it does so much free damage every spender during wings, on top of the FV+DS+TV conduit proccing
Not at all necro was bis last ssn
Eh more the divine storm dmg, I can spec into crusade and hit 20k divine stormsn
That was mostly a pve change to attract the covenant for ret. It was buffed the same time they buffed Night Fae.
hmm yeah thats problematic, they could make it 10% in pvp I guess.
But the problem of 948484 overlapping procs will still exist
Judge into FV+DS+SW+TV conduit proc + that 18% conduit damage aswell
Ya sure but that doesn’t change my point
Should just flat remove the extra 25% multiplier from divine storm from necro hammer and see how it is from there and then maybe look at final verdict
The question we have to ask is, is it really VH being problematic (probably part of it for sure and deserve the nerf on the DS damage) or its having high uptime of seraphim for free on top of free wings that make random spike of damage way too high.
They could make the seraphim procs from tier set have 50% less effects
PVE only buff that they just “forgot” to add the “this isnt effective in pvp”… like the collective 20% damage buffs outlaw has gotten
Is… Is this satire? Necro ret (esp with kyrian Rdruid) was arguably the best spec in the game last season. Necro has been the bis & meta ret spec since S2 started.
The damage IS huge; ret is one of the highest DPS classes in the game, but its HOW the damage comes in thats more impactful imo. You “load” charges with the vanq hammer, and if you get a DP proc, those two final verdicts with the DT proc on top is enough kill pressure literally every 30 seconds which conveniently lines up with every bolt + hoj.
It’d be way more manageable if that damage came out in a more spaced out manner like, oh I dont know, starsurge, which will do similar damage if i cast 5 in a row (which you can do every 30s), but its over 5 globals instead of 2.
yes absolutely
ya also exactly, also hilarious because it didnt even make necro ret good for pve
YEP EXACTLY
that why i think the divine storm rlly needs to be looked at because its just insane damage every 30 seconds
divine purpose do go crazy wit it
Yeah like I said its the main problem of ret shadowlands, 1 button is packed with so much systems behind it its stupid
Bad DH’s won’t.
It’s a bit reliant on RNG Necro procs for the bonus damage, but if they lucky enough to keep that buff rolling I’ve seen DH’s do almost as much as my Ret damage + my fury warrior combined, with both of us having good uptime.
Especially in a comp where DH is the only melee so he gets to cleave 2 targets all game and we only get to hit 1 if we choose to target the DH during go’s instead of his caster partner.
But the dh is also a melee. You’re describing a game of chicken; if the dh is going one of you, you’re totally free to just pull him towards wherever one of his teammates is, and he’ll stop cleaving you if he lets go
You’re also just not correct, the aoe damage coming out of wake, sw and ds procs dwarfs the aoe coming out of a dh any game. You’d have to get a demon proc every 5 seconds to match that, before even checking whether the warrior is arms and sweeping huge damage too
You absolutely can, but in the case of DH/Boomy riding the Boomy all game is a bad idea. You would be giving the Boomy free damage procs and lower cast time on cyclone all game, fighting through bear form and thorns, etc.
Blowing up the DH in a stun go forces him to kite away and you can swap back to another target until he returns.
The 20% damage buff last for 26 seconds with Unity equipped. The AOE explosion damage is just a bonus.
