Gold Seller Channel Invites Getting VERY Annoying

Just right-click report, select spam, type in ‘gold seller’ and hit submit.

The more of these we report, the fewer of them there will be.

How about ignoring it instead of creating repeated threads about it? I guess we all need to cry about something :frowning:

But really, if it only shows up in your chat box who cares…you see crap from world, LFG, general, trade, etc, etc you don’t need either, but don’t see you complaining about that.

And if you don’t join channels, or don’t look at chat, then just minimize/ignore your chat box. Problem solved.

How about blizzard does their job and fixes an easily fixable problem? Also how about trolls like you stop covering for them and giving excuses as to why the classic team is so incompetently slow to fix problems?
-lack of servers
-high queues
-Layer hopping
-Gold Spammers
Time and time again the community points these issues out and it takes them months before they can fix it.

Not a troll. It’s simple to ignore something. With the amount of sh*t that flies by in LFG or even world, it should be gone within a few seconds. And if OP is the type of person who just leaves chat channels, they can make their chat screen extremely small. There are much more important things, like faction balance on many servers, to worry about than a stupid complaint like this.

Agreed who the hell uses the wow channels for coms when discord is vastly superior

It wasn’t in vanilla, so it should be removed from classic for that reason alone even if gold sellers weren’t fully taking advantage of it.

But it just so happens that gold sellers ARE in fact taking full advantage of it. So it must go.

Funny how it’s crap Blizzard throw in from retail or “specially made” for classic that tend to be features that tend to screw things up. Like layering. And even other strange things like how pets were removed from party frames in Legion, but they didn’t bother to bring back for classic. Plus a myriad of other “fixes” and tweaks that do nothing but detract.

Gold sellers are doing channel invites to circumvent the reporting system, knowing they can’t be right clicked and reported.

Well you’re not even willing to post on your main character and you’re giving excuses why blizzard shouldn’t bother fixing an exploit that allows people to break the TOS.

Its a simple hotfix. ‘Disabled chat channel invites’. #nochanges

I believe if you right click the chat log message it gives you the option to report for spamming then type in the URL in the report box that comes up.

I report these guys every single time. I have my interface option turned off too. 3 hours later I almost always get the exact same person sending the same invite. It takes blizzard many hours to ban these guys. Its expensive advertising too since they’re having to buy accounts each time.

My avatar doesn’t matter since it’s classic and shows I play classic, so who’s the troll now? Yep…that’s you. I stopped reading there. Have fun continuing to try and defend such a dumb complaint.

It doesn’t. And I don’t have channel invites blocked.

People are addressing a major gold spam exploit that’s been in the game since day 1 and needs to be fixed ASAP.

You’re honestly the one here who’s making a dumb complaint.

Until it’s resolved, Yes!

Clearly You didin’t read the OP.

I know reading and comprehension is hard stuff these days.

lol then post on your main character then if it doesn’t matter. You’re either a troll or you’re in favor of these gold sellers getting easy advertising.

there isn’t one if you want some one to join a channel you could just whisper them and say hey join this chat channel. there is 0 reason to have the chat channel invite.

it does I have them blocked and when it pops up in the chat that so and so has invited you to such and such channel, I can and do right click on their name and report them…I do it every time I see one I dont see them that often as they get spammed out usually…but during off hours I see them a lot .

I can’t understand why this little bit of text is so much more annoying than 99% of the chat happening non-stop in general and trade chats.

maybe… just ignore the message.

I know, crazy.

please continue whining on the internet.

maybe cause in classic people don’t sit in cities for hours unless they’re on their bank alt. They actually go and play the game. The only other spam is either general chat (which unless you’re in barrens or stv is minor conversation), or guild chat. World chat is handy if you’re LFG or trying to sell something but no one stays connected to that.

So when you have some brack rotus farmer spamming you every few hours and blizzard could fix it… its kind of annoying.

But they can be. You can click their name in chat now. Even if you have them blocked. It still shows up in chat so you can report them.
That’s what half of them are complaining about: Just seeing it in chat after blocking it. Lol.
