I don’t think farming is the way. What can be considered a good farm is like 20k gold/hour and WoW tokens are $20 for like 320k. So it’s like you’re working for $1.25 an hour farming.
Professions can be somewhat profitable if you actually get orders. Try to get known on your server. But even this is probably nothing compared to almost any legal job in America, Canada, or Australia.
Now if you boost, this is more profitable. Level boosting can be like 100k per person from 60-70 and takes about 2 hours. You can do this in a duo easily and if you have 3 customers that is 150k each in 2 hours which is 75k per hour (which is still like $4.69 per hour so it’s better but not amazing)
20s are also not so hard to boost (go on geared guardian druid, rsham, shadow priest and fury warrior) and go for about 200k each right now so about 50k each for 30 minutes which is 100k/hour. Still not as good as most jobs but it might be worthwhile if you like WoW boosting more than the job you’d be doing.
For solo-casual players it really is slim-pickings this expansion
A single WoW token costs 300k+ gold, but meanwhile…
- Dragonracing WQs pay out like 3-4k gold per toon assuming you do every single one, and takes hours with a large amount of alts due to constant travel time/crossing the continent over and over
- 3-4 “raw gold” WQs sprinkled throughout the map at any given time, which like the Dragonracing WQs is time-consuming with all the flying around the map and such
- gathering is a no-go, pre-existing/already-established bots and Chinese farmer types keep those prices low
- no mission table for passive income anymore
- etc
To make self-sustaining “WoW token”-level gold you basically need to fall under one of the following categories this time around:
- have “old money” you can play the AH with, or be a pre-existing “goblin” type already sitting on millions of gold from earlier
- Have high-end/maxed out professions with rare recipes
- Be in a high-end Mythic raiding guild so you can sell boosts/carries for hundreds of thousands of gold
It’s not a very friendly expansion for a casual to make decent gold, like at all
The casual gold-making experience in DF:

They’re not if you farm volume across expansions. Know a guy who did this, would usually make 10-20k a day. Mind you, he had to use TSM because he was literally relisting thousands of items every 3 days.
(Edit: 10-20k a day was his minimum. When purples sold that would go up to 100-200k on those days depending on the purples.)
Also, posting in Humanbeak thread.
mogs like this is what sells
Run achievement carries in mythic+ and raids.
Yeah it’s cheaper to just work an extra hour but the p2w ties to the token is getting too offputting.
With these spiralling-out-of-control prices it makes me wish they would do away with the “Bnet balance” option altogether and just make it only exchangeable for game-time like in Classic - that would probably bring the token price back down to Earth/back down to reasonable levels
Bought a WoW token in Classic last month and it was a huge sticker-shock… I thought to myself the token is “only” 4800 gold (at the time I bought it)?? I had to blink my eyes in disbelief
I’m guessing the huge hyperinflation recently is partially due to them releasing D4 and also all the new crap they’ve tossed onto the store recently

What’s 4.8k classic gold equal to in retail?
No idea, I got lucky because I happened to have a purple pet in one of my bags (that I had forgotten about) that sells for like 9k
Tossed mine up there for like ~5k gold just to cash in a WoW token and it sold
I think for sure the WoW token price would be lower if the “Bnet balance” option was not attached to it
5-6k WoW token price in Classic seems much more reasonable than 330k+ gold on retail no matter how you look at it
330k+ WoW token prices is not casual-friendly at all
10k a day is pretty close to a token and i really dont think anyone on here will give you advice how to make more than 10k a day lol

The name was all that was required…
oh i know this is not the priest humanbeak but op claims other wise
just laying a bait
What is with the obsession over claiming I’m not who I say I am?
What do you want from me to prove to you I’m the same person? Not that I should even have to to begin with.
Gold selling sites are P2W. WoW tokens just cut out the middle man. Who cares at this point. If you have the top end gear and suck at the game, you have top and gear and still suck at the game lol
I don’t really need a lot of gold.
Farming mats is always good
You don’t need to prove anything. We just already know.
Have a great day!
With WoW token prices, the fastest way to earn gold is to get a job and just buy it. Way more earnings per hour paying in cash than farming.

Best tip for making gold I can think of, make and save more than you spend (works every time!).
