You realize that multiboxxers made the prices cheaper for everyone? And they got all the gold from it? It’s better if each seller had a different impact. It would encourage higher prices. I know some people don’t do professions because they get so low gold compared to multiboxxers since they drive the gold per hour for them.
Oh the nostalgia
Gold matters. It lets you purchase items and services. It also has real world value, and can allow you to forego paying a subscription fee. Enough of it can allow you to buy expansions and microtransactions without draining your real bank account.
I am looking forward to the WoW token prices decreasing, now that multiboxers won’t be guzzling them down as much.
Not so sure Tom and Mary know how to deal with Hyperinflation.
Good to see you missing the point though.
Obviously, gold is used to trade for various items, when eggs and flowers cost 10k gold I think most would agree gold losses its value.
OP I think you have a valid point, there will be plenty who miss the point and call you a troll, but the hyperinflation of gold is an obvious problem in the WoW economy and talking about possible way’s to lower the inflation is a worthy discussion.
You need something (gold) to represent value. How do you pretend, to auction, repair, sell to vendors, buy to vendors, dungeon rewards? What you say could work, but having gold is much better
While we may not be able to completely get rid of gold, they already have some solutions.
I think a good way would be to get rid of soul bound items of a certain I level, or from Mythic 0 and lower. You can trade old items for disenchanting, possibly pay someone a minor fee to disenchant for you and sell the materials, hell you could make blacksmith/tailors/leatherworkers actually make repair kits and these can be traded for various materials in game.
This makes professions more useful and they all don’t require gold.
This is just spit balling obviously but at the very least its interesting to think about.
I dont really see any of those ideas happening because their not casual friendly but hey, its a thought.
