Godspeed Artemis!

Who else was nerdy enough to watch the entire launch today?

I took a lunch today and didn’t care about the launch. Yet they confused fries for Brunswick stew.

In other news SETI scientists are disappearing mysteriously

Ooh that’s a great screenshot.

I did not watch, but have several close friends that work for NASA. I follow Astro Alexandra.

A space mission that’s part of a plan to build a moon base. This one is going to circle the moon a few times but won’t land.

Ehhhh, I can’t get excited by a program using a rocket nearly 3x as expensive per launch than apollo, but also less capable than apollo. I think it’s even using those abominable pork project solid rocket boosters that caused the challenger disaster.

The wife and I watched it during dinner. Brought back a bit of the joy I used to feel watching the shuttle launches.

One of my cats oversaw the launch while I napped. :first_quarter_moon_face:

To the moon!

I hear they’re gonna build a base on the other side, eventually.

It may boost our signals and be a better place to observe the stars via remote telescope or something.

Might be preferable to just launching satellites every few years, the space debris problem is getting real.

I was in elementary school when the Mars rover touched down.

The atmosphere was electric, back then.

Same. I live in Orlando and just step into my backyard to watch them go up.

It’s weird how SpaceX made it such a mundane event. A flipping ROCKET SHIP!!!1111 …and it’s like 8 a month now. lol Probably more, I don’t even keep track of them all.

I would have liked to see Annabelle go up, to feel that sheer power because I saw 2-3 Shuttle launches and … it’ll change your life to see a rocket launch in person. lol But noooo wayyyyyyyyy was I dealing with that traffic! hahah

Still great to see this happen! Three cheers for NASA!

In the past i watched all of the SpaceX stuff, the one where they landed two boosters together was so amazing, it felt like something that would have been in a sci-fi movie just a decade earlier. Now i focus mostly on what images Hubble and Webb bring in so i can avoid anything Musk related, probably a little silly but he kinda ruined rockets for me a little bit :joy:

I’ve been watching the livestream while doing TW queues to level my hunter. :stuck_out_tongue:

I meant to watch it live, but lost track of time :frowning:

(I think in the back of my mind I pessimistically assumed there’d be another delay)

I hope they take a picture of the flag we placed on the moon. If only to silence the deniers.

I mean I don’t know if they’ll fly near the Apollo mission, but it would be cool to see it again.
