So after procrastinating a bit to get into Undermine, I finally decided to level a new Goblin alt. A mage, specifically. After finishing Exile’s Reach at around lvl 12 I did what I always do with a new toon that’s ready for leveling: figure out their first transmog. I was hoping to use the appearance of the iconic tattered Goblin Starting zone shorts (the Goblin Apprentice’s/Acolyte’s/Neophyte’s Pants), but they were mysteriously absent from the Transmogrification Catalog.
A quick search of my transmog collection revealed the appearance is restricted for some reason? Other pieces from the appropriate Goblin Starting Gear like the Neophyte’s Robe or Aprentice’s Boots were still usable, oddy enough.
I do know that with the addition of the Siren Isle came the Sun-Soaked Clothing Ensemble, which uses the same appearance as the goblin pants for the Sun-Soaked Beach Shorts. With the Siren Isle being current content (or atleast semi-current at this point) I undestand that this “new” class-agnostic apearance would be lvl restricted. However, that probably shouldn’t be the case for the class-restricted goblin appearances, right?
Is it possible that somehow the two appearances got accidentally combined into one? Or that the new cosmetic has somehow overwritten the original, resulting in the starter appearance being lvl-locked? Because, to put it bluntly, I can’t imagine this bummer move was intentional.
In the grand scheme of bugs this isn’t game-breaking, but it is nonetheless odd and unfortunate. Would love to see this sorted out!
