Go ahead and kill rag week 1!

You two clearly never played in vanilla. If youbdid thsn youd know for a facy that it doesn’t matter how good players are now.

Fr is needrd in mc. Peroid. Elemenal resist was a huge thing. Without it you are a hindrance to your group.

Its not possible to kill rag weak 1. Sure you can get to 60 in that time but the gear required is much more.

Fights today arent even close to the gear requirement as it was back in vanilla.

All private servers are pretty much wrong in every account for dmg and abilities.

Sure they are close. But not exact.

When you’re 99% accurate on a game as loose as this on PvE, the difference isn’t noticeable.

Molten Core doesn’t require much gear. It doesn’t require pre-bis, and it doesn’t require FR-gear outside of the maintank. This is common knowledge. Heck, I’ve 19-manned it in the past with T1-level gear, and I’m pretty sure groups have done it with less.

People have gotten better at the game since 2004, on top of Molten Core never being challenging to begin with. It was literally a last-minute raid created in a matter of days by a single level-designer. On top of that, it has received multiple nerfs across Vanilla.

You got me!..
Clearly

Content phasing is stupid if the content is half baked and post-nerf. Not a single encounter will be relevant/interesting until Naxxramas is released.

Thankfully, PvP was saved.

They are actually undertuned. Private servers are easier. Ive been on private servers. Rag is literal missing attacks and is tuned wrong. Hes easier on them.

Go ahead, find a single ability missing here.

They just don’t remember I guess. I Been saying good knowledgeable stuff on forums trying to explain to other people, but as always, many people like you, others and myself are just disregarded. I think last night was last time I tried to explain, mostly aimed st the uninitiated, how much work it is to get ready for any raiding in Vanilla and I have not been meaning Vanilla private server.

It’s probably because you had minimal raiding experience back in 2004-2006, and never raided private servers to understand the game mechanics, how much gear actually affects your characters vs consumables, and methods used to overcome raid mechanics.

I did play in Vanilla, you just don’t understand how much the game and players have changed.

Yes people THOUGHT they needed FR in MC, turns out they didn’t.

I checked the guides, melee is supposed to need 200+ FR yet as melee you take next to NO FIRE DAMAGE if you just get out before the knockback. I know because I killed rag with next to no FR in vanilla.

It was my guilds 2nd kill the week after we had just gotten it down, I know I was in vent on the bench the week before. I was given druid Hots and that was about it, because we were short people that week and they wanted my extra dps till I “died”

guess what I survived the fight because you do not take that much damage. I was in mostly greens and a few random dungeon blues.

I know from personal experience that FR is not NEEDED for the fight, and math shows that giving up the damage means the fight takes longer, is more likely to cause a sons phase which is basically the only place you wipe, and increases the likelyhood of healers going OOM from the fight taking too long.

Just cause it was “known” back in vanilla doesnt mean it was right, we have a LOT more info now than we did back then.

There was also a deadzone outside of Ragnaros’ hitbox that required no dancing in and out of melee to avoid the knockback.
