GM interaction in WoW

Would be cool if they ran ingame events

Like jumping puzzles or something

It’s been outsourced to China LOL

All I get are typed out responses, typically two days later. And they tend to boil down to ‘sorry about your luck’. Thank goodness for Wowhead comments!

Personally, I think Blizzard’s customer service is lacking in every way compared to even just seven years ago.

My imaginary friends do not exist outside of our interactions (unlike the voices in my head). They are just there to add colour and depth to my World (of Warcraft).

I’m gonna be honest, if a multiboxer, had a pack of 5 mechagnome bots all kitted out in mechagon weapons, i wouldn’t even be mad.

I’d just point at it and say “Canon.”

If you are online at the time they get to your ticket they will talk to you, otherwise they just answer the ticket

On the beta a streamer broke the boundaries with a raid group, and they were all killed by a GM hiding.

The Streamer called the GM a coward and too show himself, and the GM unstealthed and just said “GG” before fading away.

i had a GM meet me ingame to help me finish my whirlwind axe quest back in the days. it just wouldnt start and he met me at the spot, showed me where to stand, and then after a few seconds it magically started. (no idea if he had to use some kind of command or if i just had to stand at the pixel perfect spot long enough but it worked.)

i don’t think you’d see hands on GM help like that these days, lol.

I think the last time I put in a ticket was at the start of Legion and I had a back-and-forth via the ticketing system and finally had a chat with a wonderful GM who resolved my issue.

Well, they’re paid in battle pets . . . . . . So . . . . . . Probably not.

I believe they will still whisper you if you happen to be online when they start replying to your ticket. Given your description here, it sounds like they may have already been in the process of responding when you logged on - they probably saw you as offline when they first started working the ticket.

Fact is, given the long wait time for standard ticket responses, it’s just unlikely most players will BE online when their specific ticket comes up.

(it also probably depends on the ticket. If it’s not an in-game issue, it’s probably a different team handling it, and they may not interact in-game. But I’m not 100% sure how that works.)

After several high profile events like GM only items being let loose into the community, people being able to get into GM island etc. it really wouldn’t surprise me if GMs were essentially put on a leash since then.

My guess is they probably just aren’t allowed to have the level of connection to the community that they did back when the game was released unless absolutely necessary.

Kotick needed a bigger bonus so they fired most of CS.

Because GM tools are better than they were 15 years ago. By not having to bother you a GM can help more players.

But as you can see the anti Blizzard crew will spread any conspiracy theory they can to poison your pov.

You’re expected to complete a given number of tickets in a given amount of time. While it’s true that there’s usually good feedback when you directly interact with players
it doesn’t make Blizzard more money.

What’s more, it means someone else has to pick up the slack.

WoW GMs are like seeing bigfoot now.
