Call the FBI
“These petty crimes are handled by the Minor Case Squad. These are their stories.”
Dun dun!
i have no idea where this mentality of “you dont pay me enough to not actively be a destructive person” came from but it needs to freaking stop.
Oh yeah the guy talking sounded insanely unintelligent. Just bragging and being like “well idk I don’t think it really matters.”
How does it not matter? Most people can’t do a 23.
Well I listened to the whole conversation, and slowly but surely it seemed to dawn on him that maybe the consequences might potentially be worse than just losing his title. He finally threw out a bit of pleading for them to “not ban him for too long because he’s addicted to WoW”.
Can cold-turkey WoW withdrawal kill you? Find out at 11.
The person running the key isn’t even the one who did anything wrong. Take away credit for the +23 sure. But that’s the end of it. For him.
The guy who typed in the /killall… dude. What. And of course the GM is getting thrown under the bus, everyone can clearly see they did it, no point in the players trying to make any excuses. The thing to scrutinize is why he thought it was a cool and good idea to humor his buddy’s request. And then, how many times this might have happened before.
He was showing off for a streamer, these are the kinds of people Blizzard be hiring…
GM having a good time is last week at work.
But really a streamer? In a +23? Really?
Couldn’t go make someone’s night in a +3 struggling on every mechanic?
I’d giggle if I found out a streamer commented on my green fire. ![]()
Doesn’t really bother me if I was in a pug that got streamed, is what I’m saying.
Though maybe I’m missing the point. Isn’t a +23 like high up, and you’d want to stream that?
There’s an infintisimally small chance this actually happens except in the minds of crazy people.
THIS got noticed immediately because people at that level are turbonerds about logs at that level. If this had have been at like the +16 range or lower, nobody would have cared because it doesn’t really impact anyone.
I don’t personally know anyone who’s complained about being on a stream, and tbh it’s usually noted in the group finder that it’s a streamed run.
Yeah, +23 is a very high key and it’s more likely to be streamed but not all of them are. What got them caught was their PUG tank who was logging it live, meaning the data was being uploaded to Warcraft Logs in real time. The other four apparently did not realize that, which is a little surprising because it’s very common to have people logging in higher level keys.
So the run itself wasn’t streamed, but the logs were being uploaded to Warcraft Logs and someone saw the bizarre spells when they looked at the logs.
I wonder if the GM used Bolt from Beyond?
I was killed by a GM in Orgrimmar a long time ago with that spell, and I’m 100% certain that had to be a GM screwing around. ![]()
Area Death (TEST) was the name of the spell.
I’ve looked into Bolt from Beyond but as I recall was unable to find out anything about it! I wonder if it was one of your posts that inspired me to look it up? Haha
I mean I wasn’t even mad; I thought it was kinda lulzy when I realized it. ![]()
They were doing their part to reduce the Elf population for a very short time. ![]()
That’s crazy seeing that almost “instant” action from GM and yet, when player is harassing/ruining RP on RP realm for a year straight - nothing happens.
Sorry, just ranting about something off-topic.
Tbh we need more GM like this, mby not the cheating ones, but the ones that acctually read tickets, mby than we could get the support on tikets we need, instead of ai slop answers.
When you hand people a position of responsivity, you need to pay them enough that they’d be concerned about losing their job. This is understood in other industries but for some reason people suddenly get weird when it involves customer service.
Moot point, anyways. Apparently this GM was sucking up to his favorite e-streamer girl.
I wasn’t explicitly referring to just this one incident or anything, just an attitude i’ve been noticing cropping up within the last few years or so where someone clearly breaking the rules and or just not doing their job is often met with apathy when its brought up. In no way do I think you need to do everything exactly by the book / give 9001% every day at work all for the hopes your boss will give you a thumbs up but the sheer lack of care people have for their jobs lately is concerning to say the least.
