I was directed to come here and post this via an in-game support ticket by a Blizz GM.
I started playing the game recently, and one of the achievements on my list to complete is Glory of the Delver.
The last thing I need to do is ‘My First Nemesis,’ but apparently, that’s not possible anymore. One of two things needs to happen. First, we should not be shown achievements that are impossible for our accounts to complete. I’ve spent quite a bit of time working on something that is not possible to finish. Or second option, Blizz could implement a way to go back and defeat bosses required for achievements like this while ilvl capped for that tier of content.
Something along those lines should happen. Even the GM seemed to feel bad and recognized that it should not appear as an achievable feat if it’s impossible to do in the current season.

This is a seasonal achievement. Meant to be completed while the content was current. You can go back to complete it but wont get the achievement as there is no way for it to be eligible aside from a “way back machine”.

I’m in the same boat as you. I totally ignored delves the first season of this expac. For the last few months I really got into it and was looking forward to completing the Glory of the Delver achievement. But just like you I realized it was no longer doable. The My First Nemesis look to show as a Feat of Strength now which is unobtainable now. Why not just remove this requirement from the Glory of achievement? All the real work was in the other achievements.

Have you tried defeating the underpin on the easy difficulty? Wowhead shows that the new achievement “my new nemesis” is also listed under the unnamed section of that achievement along with “my first nemesis.” It’s possible the in-game display is just not updating since either criteria could complete it. If you do that, and it still doesn’t pop, I would put in a bug report.

It would appear that Blizz is treating this like the seasonal M+ mount achieves. Although they should probably rename it since normally, glory metas are still obtainable at any point in time.
Yea, this whole forum post stemmed from me reporting this situation as a bug. The GM told me to just go share it on the forums in the hopes that it might garner some attention for Devs to do something about it.

Necroing this since the new worldsoul expansion achievement needs you to finish Glory of the Delver.
I did not play in Season 1, Undermine is what brought me back to the game in Season 2 I have s2 and s3 credits for boss deaths during this expansion but it still shows the s1 boss achievement greyed out. I still need one story for Loremaster to complete, but can anyone confirm if having another season’s boss achievement counts towards this being obtainable? (I will edit my post if I get the achievement with the Loremaster to confirm)

Was this ever resolved? I am currently working through all the achievements to get the Gear Grinder Mk. 11 mount with the release of midnight from the Worldsoul-searching achievement. I can see making whatever the achievement was necessary to get a mount or item at that time , no longer available… but to make future content and rewards predicated on old content such that anyone newer than s1 can not obtain it is wildly broken. I have the achievement for s2 and s3 bosses… but can not complete this, and there is still no work around as far as I know.
Does anyone currently have the achievement without s1 boss kill? Bran still offers me the quest to kill the guy/monster, but there’s no place for me to kill him (s1 boss’s name escapes me currently).
how do you make the big shiny new mount from the new expansion contingent on the old content, when you sell the game, with all its expansions, but make the content unavailable? you can skip right to midnight but not get the stuff IN midnight? @devs#huh?

It’s still possible to earn this particular meta achievement in-game. If you still need to kill the seasonal Delve boss to earn it, You only need to kill the new boss added this season.
You don’t need to kill either boss from Season 1 or Season 2. This meta achievement should be updated to reflect that you only need to kill the boss from this season.
If you have defeated the boss from this season and didn’t earn the meta achievement, I recommend submitting a Bug Report over on the Bug Report Forum.
