I think the part that you’re missing is that it’s just another anonymous way to cancel people. This isn’t server communities where both sides had personal responsibility. If someone was blacklisted in the HDCC channel, you knew who blacklisted them and the story of why. If that turned out to be false, the accuser was screwed for the rest of the expansion, blacklisted themselves.
With this addon, that’s not going to happen. It’s just going to be people mindlessly outraged over stupid stuff, making false claims to blacklist others. And no one would be the wiser, because it’s pugs from across servers and nothing can be substantiated.
Raider.io gave a person a score based on the time it took them to complete a dungeon and the level of said dungeon. It gets its information from Blizzards API.
This system gives a person a score based on whether they gave up an upgrade to betwetter Timmy so he doesn’t blacklist them. It gets it’s information from random players and has no basis in ‘personal responsibility’ as the people doing the blacklisting are not held to any sort of standard.
Lucky you. My night has been a living nightmare to the upmost extreme. I did my ember court and all of the guests instantly turned hostile and attacked me (and all their rep is maximum hated)…I couldn’t even land in Oribos as there was an angry mob with pitchforks and torches waiting for me…I went down to the maw to grab my souls and all of them spit on me and refused to go into my jar or whatever we use…even the Jailer avoided me and was like “nah bro…stay the heck away from me…you are marked in a real bad way”.
LOL no unsurprisingly, I did not, in fact, have anything different despite my numerous and obviously real reports just like I am 100% certain that, come later this week or the weekend, I’ll find people to fill in for my needed slots who won’t be none the wiser of who I am or how I’m “blacklisted”.
Oh and I also didn’t download the addon on account I didn’t know what it actually was and what someone else linked on the other thread seemingly isn’t it…so oh well…I didn’t even get to see my own blacklisted reports either.
What’s interesting is it says “part of toxic guild” does that mean the addon considers everyone in that guild toxic? Doesn’t seem to fair to get labeled as toxic for what other people do
Toxicity is a catch-all phrase and comes across as a cop out when they don’t have an otherwise viable reason. Bad transmog - toxic. Didn’t give me the item I wanted - toxic. Explained a mechanic I was doing incorrectly - toxic.
This addon and community surrounding it is so gross.
One person will say toxic and everyone else will apply their own definition to it to justify it even if the actual reason was something mundane like “rolled greed on a random green drop and won it instead of me”
Sadly I think some will use ‘bad transmog’ as a reason and people will just roll with it because the blacklist. Same as they don’t look at the reason for a kick vote.
