Though to reiterate what I said last paragraph, even though Christie said this, there is still nothing that explicitly states that it is impossible for a worgen to have a tail in the game/lore itself.

There’s nothing explicitly stating that trolls can’t sprout tiny bat wings from their posteriors and flutter 1 inch above the ground, either.

Strawmanning aside, worgen have never had tails. I’d have no issue if they had tails from the get-go but tossing them in now would feel very strange because you’d have some with regular people posteriors and others with tails. It’d be like if they went, “We heard you and decided to give a ‘no tail’ option for draenei.” It’d feel odd that this race who has had tails for their entire lifespan of the game, suddenly had people walking around with none at all with no explanation as to why.

What I would be down with is if they differentiated (and added) night elf worgen by letting them have tails, marking them as being nearer to that original “Form of the Pack” that the worgen curse originated from.
