Optional tails, lore correct size, new fur colors, optional upright males, forward facing ears, combat swap for those who want it, a racial revamp so Worgenarent the only core race without it… so many things that could help the Worgen race.

??? What exactly is lore correct?

Short version.

Blizzard stated worgen stand at 8 feet tall. We’re not at that height in game.

Long version:

When Worgen were under development back when Blizzard devs used to talk to us, one of the devs in a Q&A answer fest said that Worgen should be 8 feet tall for females and the males should be that tall hunched over. However when the model was released with the abomination or what is honestly one of the worst models in WoW’s history to ever go live we were only 7 feet tall for some reason putting us in line with the other Alliance tall races. When Legion came around Blizzard made Worgen even smaller down to the live size of 6’ 11" and has never once responded to any kind of Worgen post. (Well other than to issue me 3 day bans but I will gladly take 3 days bans when it comes to discussions about Worgen) And we know Worgen were planned to be 8 feet tall at first as Worgen females use Tauren female shoulders, Tauren Females are 8 feet tall. We know the 8 feet tall models work yes they have some issues but they do work just look at Tauren, Zandi trolls, and now Dracthyr. Stop making the Alliance tall races all one general size as Draenei, Kul Tir, Worgen, Night Elf all share almost the same exact size. Also the added size slows down Worgen animations a little and makes a vast majority of them look better when slowed down.

Quick note it was Loreology who posted the old size post but that Tweet was deleted and the only place you can find it is on old archival sites.

So, they would have been the Tauren of the Alliance basically. Gotcha, sorry for your loss. You know I’ve always wanted to play a Worgen, never find the right class for them.

I actually noticed this about a lot of the races they kind of get wrong. Pandaren are suppose to be 7ft but in reality standing next to a Human which is suppose to be 6ft, Pandaren look more like 6’5ft at most.

Ive played every class as a Worgen, I find that Warrior, Druid, Hunter and Rogue are the ones that most suit the race. Yes it would be nice if Warrior and Rogue could choose to use an unarmed claw/bite animation set instead and druids really need a revamp on our druid forms to make them more wolf like rather than just maned versions of Night Elf druid forms. Hunter really is nice as a Worgen with the extra sprint but I still think Worgen need a racial revamp as we are the only core race in the game who didnt get one.

Leveled a Worgen Rogue for heritage. It was alright, ended up axing him in favor of the Night elf Rogue, just like the more agile graceful assassin aesthetic in the end. Ultimately a lot of it also came down to animations, Just… A lot of Worgen combat animations are just off to me.

Some are the fact our animations are too fast cause our model is too small. Try a potion of Giant Growth on a Worgen character and while it makes you like 8’5" it slows down some of your animations and they honestly look better. There are still some things that look odd about our animations but they are better than the old model days where we used to have things like this:

And yes that made it to Live WoW for 10 years… The HD Model revamp fixed some of it but it also added some new animations that seem speed up at the current size. Running Wild and our Walk/Run animation to mention 3 big outliers.

Funnily enough I started using em as of late, and like a lot how the dk animations look on a taller worgen, especially the movement animation where before it felt like your leg movements were super sped up, but with giant growth, it looks waaay more natural with how much slower your feet move compared to your actual movement.

It was honestly fine before, but as I’ve said in the past, the new walk/run animation is completely different from the original to the point that we don’t even have separate walk/run animations anymore, it’s all just one thing. I also often say that the movement animation actually now looks like it’s built specifically with a tail in mind with how much your waist sways around as you move.

Give worgens a taller option and a tail option!

I’ve always loved worgen lore. I adore the concept of werewolves. Especially werewolves who aren’t completely mindless killing machines.

What frustrates me about worgen is that at all opprotunities it seems they want to reject what they are, worgen. Sometimes in cata you’d see gilnean worgens using their claws, but most have been using regular weapon and armor despite built in weapons. There seemed to be a major taboo against spreading the “curse” (is it even a curse anymore) even if the person is willing.

It’s just frustrating how they’ve been handled.

But lore aside it’s also frustrating that for 12 years female worgen looked like… what they did… it was so bad as to be almost unbearable and thus I rarely played worgen despite liking them. I had a similiar issue with undead and their damn spines and bones ruining everything. I don’t mind the bones I mind the ruined transmog. Though for worgen it was their face and most helmets looked bad on them.

Even now. I love my new face. My worgen gal looks absolutely fantastic if you look at her from the front and she doesn’t move.

But from the back the rear end just seems… wrong. It’s always been hard to place why. But they don’t have human butts. They don’t look like human butts. It’s incredibly awkward looking. And their movement is also awkward. Improved from before but still awkward and kind of uncomfortable. Running wild still looks bad for female worgen. And the rear probably become considerably more apparent. I believe that would be fixed considerably by a tail and a tail would be easier than reshapping the worgen rear.

As a bonus I’d also like a racial that when toggled hides our weapon and forces us to fight with just our claws. I feel like this is better than a hidden fist weapon transmog as that only really benefits what 2 or 3 specs in the game. Worgen are worgen. We should be able to use our melee weapons as stat sticks the same way a druid does.

Exactly Sappho. An option to use weapons or our claws would really put some flavor into the race. Giving us an optional tail and lore correct size is the core of what I would like to see as a start. But things like the fighting style, upright option for males, wolf like forms for Druids. Just small things that really would go a long way when it comes to the race. After that I can almost promise you we would see an even better boost in our player base for Worgen and who knowns Blizzard might finally give us our long overdue core race racial revamp.

Yeah, it’s an aggravating direction.

It’s like they just want them to be humans, and want the humans to all be the same and boring.

This reminds me off a news article i read about a guy on the beach ranting about women wearing bikini that he had to look at and they were trying to tempt him with there sinful ways .

Just ignore Chespin they want to argue and get this thread locked. It’s not worth the time or effort to fight with them, they have a bad opinion and it’s just that, best to just ignore thier blind hatred for Worgen and continue our discussion on getting the customization options we want.

PS. 80 post to go to 11k. Blizzard had no idea trying to attack Worgen would bring us together even more.

see if you can get this to 12000 posts

We will and more. We Worgen players are a passionate group about getting customizations and changes for the race we play. We will not give up. One day we will have more customization options, a lore correct size and hopefully get our racials revisited. One day. Till then we are here to stay and will continue to post to show our support for such things.

It will be a great day for Worgen players of all kinds.
