Give Void Elves Paladins

Yeah, but given that it could’ve been a dev being funny and trying to push something that wasn’t agreed upon with the lead designers (it wouldn’t be the first time), and since we haven’t heard anything about it anymore, probably will be swept under the rug.

The cycle makes sense, but they’re cycle of life. In death the Naaru becomes the void. And in death the void becomes the light. Void elves aren’t dying and being reborn, so I think the concept doesn’t connect here.

We’ve seen that, indeed. Sir Zeliek back in Classic WoW.

I just think the timing with the Lamplighters being introduced in this expansion, how the sacred flame works and its connection to the elemental plane.

Liadrin: Thank you for agreeing to meet with us. I’m eager to learn more about the Sacred Flame.

Regald Hornfyre: It’s not problem, my lady. I’m always happy to discuss the Sacred Flame.

Liadrin: Do you gain the Sacred Flame through Beledar?

Regald: Beledar is more… a symbol. A holy relic if you will. A powerful source of the Light yes. But not the source of the Sacred Flame.

Salandria: Does the Flame come from another source, or is it intrinsic?

Regald: Sorry, I’m trying to condense years’ worth of training into a single conversation. The Sacred Flame comes from within, much like the Light. But it’s also an external source, much like the Light. It just has more… physical applications, given its flammability.

Liadrin: Interesting. So you tap into the Elemental Plane?

Regald: In many ways it’s an element of faith. The Sacred Flame isn’t a being or energy from the Firelands, nor any specific plane, but the representation of belief. Its not just holy nor just arcane, but both, and neither. Coming from within us, and existing as a radiant force throughout the cosmos.

Salandria: It sounds akin to some of our applications of the Light, compared to Stormwind.

Liadrin: True, and I suppose it makes sense, given its origins. Thank you, Regald. It has been a pleasure. I hope we can return soon.

So the Void Elves can be Paladins, they don’t call upon the light, they call upon the sacred flame, which is the combination of both light and arcane, which seems to make it bearable for undead to wield it (and we even have undeads raised by the Sacred Flame in Priory of the Sacred Flame dungeon storyline), and wouldn’t disrupt or cause imbalance with their void powers.
