The only issue with hair that long is that it may be like cardboard. I dunno.

Night Elf one is called long and the Void Elf one is called melancholy.

I support this strongly, I still don’t understand why we can’t pick between blue, red and green eye colors on Death Knights and maybe purple just for fun.

You can avoid it by making macros of your abilities that cancel the effect. You’ll lose out on the DPS increase that way, but won’t have to deal with the visual.
An example:
#showtooltip Death Strike
/cancelaura Entropic Embrace
/cast Death Strike
This will turn off the Void visual and cast Death Strike.
You could also just have the cancel aura as its own macro to press, in case you don’t want to use an ability when you cancel it.
You can access the macro menu by typing /macro. Macros you make there can be placed on your action bars as if they were abilities.

It should be an option to have normal racials if you select non void customization. I should not have to make a macro plus it hurt my damage.

I was just pointing out that at least there’s an out available right now for people who can’t stand the visual.
I am gonna be honest here, if people thinks the racial is so detrimental, I think they should really reroll to another race.
The racial is part of the void elves defining features. I think it should not be removed visually.

I find myself in agreement generally speaking there.
If you can’t stand void elves at all then play a blood elf. Gives you everything you want in a high elf and you have many options available for RP and story in general to work with.

Except it also forces you to play for the King Shrek instead of King Fiona which is unacceptable.

If you find it unacceptable to play either elf option then. Don’t play any of them.
Advocate for another choice of elf; like for HE/half elves to be their own AR, or advocate model toggles for LFD like I do.
I do not believe removing the void from void elves is a proper solution.

Kinda agree with this too.
You don’t want to use the options available to RP your high elf, (the only way to get them right now) then you’re back to square one.
You shouldn’t be trying to make void elves something they’re not, but advocating for something else.
That said, I think seeking another thalassian model is silly. You have the options you need, and I’m consistently told hair color isn’t that important for blood elves so it must not be for void elves either.

Anyone who wants to change velf racial is just being dumb.
I can’t believe people even notice that visual. What the heck do you do during fights? focus on what you are killing and what’s killing you, not how you change colour for a few seconds.
Night elves can come pretty close visually now too, with access to peach skin and brown, black, and white hair.
No they are not, the night elves model is unacceptable, only belven model for high elves. Please.
