Give them three days early access

I am not sure if it is in the same way anymore, yes to a degree it is but also it appears now days the worse the reputation you have -to a point- the more sells you get. It’s effectively free advertising. However it’s a delicate balance get too bad and you can’t recover.

Fallacy Fallacy is also a thing, the only reason their statement doesn’t make sense is because human intervention could stop the chain of events however we must recognize the higher the level of complacency the higher the odds the predicted events will happen. So yes, slippery slope is a fallacy but the argument is not without merit.

I’m just saying their claim is dubious and unsupported at best.

This prepurchase with early access is gross. Most hype day of any xpac is launch day. And now u have to have that with ppl already max lvl as soon as u start. The marketing team are greedy pigs.

Naturally, it’s the marketing teams job to get the most money as possible. Like it or hate it, money makes the world go round and business’s are in the business of making it.

Mate, im not retarded, i know how the world works. They’re still greedy pigs for doing it.

its not enough that the epic edition gives 3 days early access, they should also delay the expac three extra days for the plebs who can’t scrounge up $90 from now until probably next summer/fall

I’m going to get the $90 dollar preorder for all the other stuff that comes with it and still start playing the new expansion a week after launch like I always do because I don’t care about early access.

I think most of the people who don’t pre-order that package will feel vindicated by the fact that those who did ended up with a sneak peek at a game that was barely playable.

Blizzard once upon a time had a great reputation. They squandered it with greed dictated by activision.

Blizzard is now known for their politics, virtue signalling, and greed. They used to be an amazing company until they gutted the place of hard working masculine men that made WoW what it is today. Now it’s just piggy backing off the great reputation that the game once had.

Now I’ll answer your question.

Gaming company? No. I’m sure there are plenty of companies out there that use their reputation as a factor in business though. Think of some of the best restaurants, retailers, fast food places for instance.

See how I said business? Instead of gaming companies?

I mean…I guess. But most of the highly successful businesses out there have horrible reputations and they seem to doing great so I don’t think its as important as you are implying.

Yep. If a business’ reputation had any impact on its success Wal-Mart would have shut down years ago.

2 years. I want 4 years. So I can judge everything fully.

Early access in perpetuity would be better.

Can I just pay to restrict other peoples access? Sometimes I encounter people that really ruin my day. Would be fun to just veto them, maybe even give us a bidding war for us to see which one of us has to be evicted from the game? jkjk.

Make it half a year early access so it’s worth $40

What if they release it on a long weekend (Friday), then everyone will have to wait until Tuesday to potentially play. Releases days, should be for everyone - not a perk for paying more. This will be a slippery slope with Blizzard further monetizing the player experience.

Mythic Plus and Raid being locked is fine, but that’s not the only path to endgame progression and it’s a logical falacy to assume it’s a concrete solution.

If we take DF and crafting as an example it’s less competition for mats and more chances at rares for those BIS recipes.

Ilvl advantage just through heroic meaning your closer to doing end content then people who wait.

On the PvP side more time towards getting your honor so your playing with a clear advantage over those who wait.

These are just some of the issues. It is an edge for those who do pay extra to get ahead. Sure the lead is ephemeral, but it is still a lead.

I don’t get all this talk of money grubbing tbh. The prices would have been the same regardless of the items included.

At least the three day early access is pretty inconsequential. It’s really just levelling and very basic profession use. All the endgame content is locked away.

It is worth thinking about though that any ideas they do have to increase revenue from whales is still preferable to an increase in subscription fees for everyone, which as mentioned, haven’t changed in almost 20 years. But we’re still getting pretty great content for no additional cost through traders post which could have been store items but weren’t.

Edit: every single launch is a day late for me in Australia anyway. For years they’ve launched at around 7-9am on a work day and I don’t get to play until that night out the next day if there was emergency maintenance.
