I feel like this change is in general just very healthy for the game as it would allow us to freely switch between our draconic and core forged set bonuses, with the penalty being that you would have to re-enchant the item. The proposed solution for this would be simply adding the exchange to Nefriendius similar to how the Duke does the exchange in Molten Core.
The reason I am posting this is that I play a Holy Paladin and would like the chance to eventually try the Draconic set bonus (the tier 1 bonus is better for raw healing), but I feel it is asking too much for me to get 2 of each tier piece for one specialization (I have a ret off-spec).
Let me know what your thoughts are on this topic. Hopefully, we get this in the future!

Id support this… Im staying/starting core forged but would like to try draconic at some point. Since they added the ability to swapp bonuses it should be both ways not just one.

Another thing I didn’t even think about here is allowing every tier item to just simply have a use effect on it allowing it to switch tier set bonuses. This would work to how the class weapons can change stances. This would suffice too.

This. I am effectively locked into fire because I switched my T2 back to coreforged unless I want to get a whole second set.
edit: They originally promised before the patch people could swap between the two at will. Seems like such a weird change.

My situation is currently very similar to yours. As Hpal I want to keep running with core forged, as that gives the better set bonus for healing throughput. But, I just want to eventually try to use Draconic because dealing damage and converting to healing just sounds cool. Just unfortunate that we can’t go back currently.

so much tier drops with 3 affix. youll have a second set soon. BELIEVE my brother of the light
Here I sit, broken hearted, changed my draconic for core-forged and then I farted (cause I realized I cannot change it back)

I agree (and really want to believe lol) a lot drops with 3 affixes (don’t think enough to get another full set though), as that is what my guild runs every week. But the issue is you are now not looking for 2 tier sets like you’re saying, it’s actually 3. Getting the second set of tier is, at least in my opinion, supposed to be used for your off-spec, which for me is ret. The current situation doesn’t promote even having an off-spec at all.

As Bear tank, I will take the t1 bonuses all day… my raid doesn’t need my dps they need me alive. That doesn’t mean later on I wouldn’t want to try the Draconic set and see how it performs and how I like it. Just building a whole 2nd set of raid gear to “play with” and taking it from others who actually utilize their off-specs (spriest/holy, fire/arcane heals, etc.) feels lame. And my guild is doing the 3-affixes for the extra loot as well.

This is exactly how I feel. The Draconic Hpal set is weird and incentivizes doing damage to a target which gets converted via your beacon to healing on someone else other than you. I am trying to build a shockadin set too with ZG and eventually will want to test the healing out with the Draconic BWL set.
as retribution theres 3 ways too play it exo and stacking require set 1 seal twist requires set 2. i want to try the set 2 but if i make my current t2 into set 1 i can’t go back to set 2 it sucks

Yeah, it’s a tough situation playing a paladin right now with the inability to switch. It’s rough as any class because you want to keep your t1 bonus, then potentially switch to t2 when you get enough pieces.
You’re going to be swimming in tokens in another two weeks or so just like you were in MC.
I got 4/8 off spec tier pieces in tier 1, we were unlucky in MC for pally/hunter tier. Look at my post above, as a Holy paladin I would need not 2 full sets, but 3. I have a MS holy, and an OS ret, but would like to simply try the draconic bonuses. So I now must sack my OS if I want to simply try the other set bonus? That feels wrong.
i would be for being able to switch back and forth as i would love to go aff on the lock or even eventually md/ruin and they want drac pieces and not the 6 set coreforged /2 set drac that i have now.
i mean to switch the piece you have to have gotten the piece and you can already do it 1 way so why not both?

You don’t think that having to sack your off spec just to try something for my main spec that may not be ideal is really a good idea? This means when all of our raiders get t2 sets, I’ll just roll MS on the second set since it is technically MS for me and not OS. Does this really sound ethical?
This should have been standard but blizz are a “hindsight” kind of developing studio.

+1 to this idea, it’s weird that they aren’t backwards transferrable
