I just prefer classic leveling and professions. IDK why.
What I enjoy about the Classic world is it feels like a world way more than retail. For some reason a break in a town or city feels more like a break from the adventuring rather than swinging by in-and-out. I don’t really know how to describe it cause functionally it’s still pretty much the same.
Classic is about the journey, not the destination. Over the years, the socially driven player base has shifted and made it about the end game destination. The solo driven player base is a completely different dynamic.
It all depends on where and how you want to and are able to spend your time and energy.
Nostalgia, that’s really the ONLY reason its better.
What you do in retail actually matters because you carry it forward.
Every mount, every bit of transmog, every rep, every achievement, its with you for the life of the game.
With classic, youre locked in time. Whatever you achieve will always be stuck right at that point. Because classic doesnt head anywhere.
None of it matters in the end.
Yeah this is one thing I liked about classic. Scaling is just lazy game design
Apparently also a more active raiding scene.
It helps me go to sleep at night
same here. I played in Vanilla right when the game came out. After the nostalgia, there wasn’t much to keep me there. Honestly the biggest draw for me in vanilla was the community and the wonder of exploring so much new game, but that’s just not same anymore either. Everyone knows the game and people are different.
do whatever you want, you’re the only one who can decide.
GDKP ruined Classic. It’s a shell of the game it should be.
Classic is run by the older crowd that mostly played back then. The endgame is gate kept by these people. Even though the content is easy as hell the hard part is dealing with the people in these groups to even get a chance to do anything.
These same people if they tried retail these days don’t survive in 2-5+ keystones lmao
Oh ye and the guy above is right as well… GDKP is all you will find and also the spam for boost carries in lower dungeons for either real money or gold. Or both.
Also every friday watch westfal and durotar get flooded with mage bots.
I was playing bloodsail for a bit (wotlk) and it was pretty chill. People were nice, I saw the same faces regularly in the city, but pugging was aweful, not nearly enough people at the times I played and my friends were on faerlina so I moved over. High pop is aweful imo, aside from 5 man pugging the game runs just as efficiently as a low pop, its not like there are mass pop server events or anything of the likes, its a huge shame as if the population spread just a teeny bit to push medium/low the game would run perfect.
I’d honestly play Wrath if it had the LFD.
Since it doesn’t, to the trashcan it goes.
Classic is simple and easy. Just takes way longer to do anything.
That appeals to some people.
People cleared MC in the 1st week of release.
How time consuming it is is GREATLY overblown.
If there is a good thing though, it’s that in Classic there is really no need to rush. Everything is easy enough that you can’t really fall behind in skill. Falling behind a few weeks in retail makes it that much harder just to pug anything.
lol, ok. well they were planning their entire runs in beta for quite a while beforehand.
and I ran aq40 routinely. we spent a great deal of time gathering all the mats to deal with poisons and shadow damage, etc, etc, etc,
and the leveling experience itself is measured in days, not hours.
yes, you could buy boosts or speed it up with strats that have almost all been nerfed by pathing changes.
One thing will make retail better at any time and it’s the simple fact that it can get better. Classic will forever stay stale.
For the average player it is time consuming.
Takes forever to even get a mount. Meanwhile, I can fly everywhere at 30 but Dragon Isles and Shadowlands.
Follow your heart.
