I mean, to be fair, we can simplify it past even this, only two things in the universe really have basic, fundamental value: time and effort (energy) spent… and what you need to DO that effort, in other words… continued existence and work… over the bare necessities to live and do the former.
You’re not wrong but it’s way broader than that. Literally everything in game is for sale. Mythic clears, high keys, gladiator carries, rare cosmetics, everything. It can all be bought with gold. You can buy gold with real money so quite literally everything in the game is for sale for real money.
So real money has meant you get a better game for a very long time.
Lots of people these days have a super ultra broad definition of pay 2 win.
It’s not even worth arguing anymore but I do think $90 for a mount alone is ridiculous. Good think I wouldn’t have bought it for half that (I don’t like the bronto mounts to me they look stupid.
if you are just basing it off your head canon then believe whatever you want, but the broader generally accepted definition of p2w has always and will always be anything that you can pay for that gives even the smallest iota of advantage in game.
It is literally so easy to get from point A to point B that I can’t think of a single time I would ever need the ‘convenience’ of a mailbox/AH mount. People who had it benefited greatly during SL because Oribos had no AH. Dornogal has one, however.
Quit trying to have others justify your perceived need for a $90 mount, OP.
No if that were the case then they would still allow multiboxing cuz that brought them in thousands of $ per multiboxer. And they would also have it to where it was still one mount per toon so that you had to buy each store mount for each toon. Now they are all account bound. I used to buy each store mount for each one of my toons but don’t have to anymore as they are all account bound.
The first Brutosaur was 5 million in gold. Right now in NA a WoW token is 252K gold so that’s basically $400 in gold. If you were playing in BFA you could directly just buy it this way.
$90 is actually cheap, in comparison.
My only criticism is they should’ve chosen a different model IMHO.
